DMV is set at the place everyone dreads going most: the DMV. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Good thing they have each other.
Colette pines for her coworker Noa while enduring teasing from colleagues Gregg, Vic and Ceci; new manager Barb rallies the crew to save their branch from government shutdown.
When the insanity at the DMV causes a new hire to quit, Colette worries Noa will follow and tries to make things better; employees and customers struggle through a sweltering day with a barely functional air conditioner.
Colette is tasked with giving Noa his driving test; Ceci helps Barb get camera-ready for her new manager portrait.
When Colette runs into an old friend at the DMV, she pretends to be a fellow customer rather than an employee in order to save face.
When Ceci accuses Colette of only being kind for the credit, Colette anonymously gives Noa the perfect gift.
Colette is crushed to learn that Noa is dating someone; Barb tries to find out who is defacing DMV property with childishly inappropriate drawings.
Barb takes the team on a field trip to the rival North Hollywood branch to learn the secrets of their success; Barb begins to doubt herself after meeting their charismatic manager, Beau.
Colette's effort to redirect holiday plans takes an unexpected turn when it lands her trapped in a car; a surprising new friendship stirs up jealousy among the team.
At the Big Sac holiday party, Colette tries to impress Noa before his single window closes; Barb's effort to save the East Hollywood DMV backfires when she accidentally tackles the director, but assistant Sally steps in to help.
Colette goes on a date with Ceci's cousin Miguel and discovers he may be the key to Ceci's heart. Meanwhile, Barb finds out about Greg's lawsuit against the DMV while Vic helps Noa deal with rude customer Brent.
