Nao, a replica of Sunao, attends school in her place because she isn't feeling well. While spending time with her childhood friend Ritsuko in the literature club, an unexpected prospect shows up. He turns out to be Sanada Shuya, a former basketball team ace and classmate.

Nao declares that she will wear her hair half-up as a landmark when she comes to school so that Sanada will feel more comfortable talking to her in the classroom. Sunao goes on the school trip she was looking forward to, and Nao, who is back at school after a long absence, envies her classmates who are all excitedly reminiscing. Just then, Sanada approaches her...

Even after summer vacation ended, Sanada was worried when Nao didn't come to school for a while. Ritsuko told him, "Nao-senpai doesn't come every day," which made him realize something. A month later, when Nao finally came to school, Sanada asked her, "Aren't you Aikawa Honest?"

In order to get revenge for Shuya, Aki decides to have a basketball match against Hayase-senpai, a former member of the basketball club. Nao watches the brave match with Ritsuko. On the other end of the video call on her smartphone, who is providing commentary, are Sunao and Shuya—

Nao enjoys her first school festival with excitement and anticipation, from being made to wear a maid outfit to experiencing a haunted house with Aki. And then, just before the main stage performance, Nao learns about Suzumi's hidden past.

The curtain rises, and the play of "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter: A New Translation," for which Ritsuko wrote the script, begins. It proceeds as practiced, but towards the end, as they reach the scene where Princess Kaguya and the old women say goodbye, Nao notices Suzumi's feelings about the story and asks her a serious question that is not in the script.

While still grieving and shocked by Suzumi's death and Ryo's simultaneous disappearance, Nao is told frankly that she will be attending school from now on. Confused, Nao stays holed up at home when Ritsuko and Aki come to her and say, "Let's go to a hot spring."

While enjoying her school trip, Sunao is unexpectedly confessed to by a classmate she barely knows. Feeling down after hearing what he said, she is approached by Sato. Faced with Sato's frankness, Sunao confides in him about the feelings she has kept hidden in her heart. Meanwhile, Nao, who is making the most of her time in Fujinomiya, is excitedly suggesting a "pillow fight"—a must-do activity on school trips—to Mochizuki and Aki.

Helping with the potato harvest, going to see the beautiful Mt. Fuji... Nao begins to notice the changes in her own heart as she experiences the beauty of the changing seasons. Meanwhile, Nao and Aki are summoned by Sunao and Shuya, and entrust the rest to Mochizuki before meeting in Kyoto.
