Ilhan Omar joins after being denied entry to a Minneapolis ICE facility amid protests in the city after an ICE agent shot and killed a 37-year-old woman. Plus, Secretary of Energy Chris Wright discusses the Trump administration's plans for Venezuela's oil. Republican Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar of Florida says that Venezuela's opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has "earned" being in power. Machado will be meeting with President Trump this week. Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, who is also a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said that more military action in Iran would be a "massive mistake." President Trump has been briefed on military options, but no final decision has been made. Senators last week approved the display of a plaque recognizing the police who defended the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, from rioters. Congress voted in 2022 to hang the plaque by March 2023, but some lawmakers opposed the law and delayed its implementation.

David Becker, executive director of the Center for Election Innovation and Research and a CBS News election law contributor, tells "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that election officials are "very concerned" about President Trump's push to "consolidate more power than the Constitution granted by seizing the mechanisms of elections." Legendary downhill skier Lindsey Vonn, who already had a torn ACL, crashed seconds into her race at the Milan Olympics on Sunday morning. Two American freestyle skiers, Hunter Hess and Chris Lillis, acknowledged "mixed emotions" representing the U.S. at the Milano Cortina Olympics amid the heated political environment. The remarks have drawn criticism from the Trump administration and some Republicans. 

This week on "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan," as Democrats refuse to vote to fund DHS with changes to ICE, Ed O'Keefe speaks to Trump administration border czar Tom Homan. Robert Garcia of California told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that DHS is "causing terror across this country," and some Republicans are starting to "show some concern, but they need to show more courage" about the agency's actions.

President Trump spoke to the Qatari emir, who emphasized to the president the "need for diplomacy to de-escalate the situation." The question now is whether the Trump administration can keep global energy moving while this war continues. Imtiaz Tyab reports from Doha. Energy Secretary Chris Wright told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that he believes that oil and gas prices "shouldn't go much higher than they are here because the world is very well supplied with oil," adding that the conflict in the Middle East is "not a long-term war." President Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Saturday traveled to Dover, Delaware, to witness the dignified transfer of the six Americans killed in action in the war in the Middle East. Israeli ambassador to the U.S. Michael Leiter told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that when talking about the Iranian leadership pipeline, Americans have to remember that "pragmatists have been very limited in their ability to influence in Iran" because "the people influencing deciding for Iran are these ayatollahs." In a phone call with CBS News' Robert Costa, President Trump said he "couldn't care less" about threats from Iran's top national-security official, Ali Larijani. Mr. Trump said he is focused on "getting Iran to a point where they surrender," Costa told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan." Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that his vote to confirm outgoing Homeland Security Secretary Kristin Noem was a "big mistake," and "what we want to see is not just the change in the nameplate on the door" from President Trump's new nominee Markwayne Mullin. Olga Stefanishyna, the Ukrainian ambassador to the U.S., told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that Russia is "absolutely a factor" in the war with Iran as Russia was "investing in regimes like Iran, Venezuela, and Syria, just because they thought it's not possible to have the resolute action as it is now taking place with Iran and as it was before in Venezuela."

Iranian missiles hit southern Israel overnight near its main nuclear facility at Dimona, injuring at least 170 people according to the authorities and causing heavy destruction. Charlie D'Agata reports from the worst-hit town of Arad. President Trump has threatened to bomb Iran's nuclear plants and civilian energy infrastructure. U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Mike Waltz told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that all options remain possible, and he would "never take anything off the table for this president." After President Trump called NATO a "paper tiger without the U.S.," NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that the alliance has had "several conversations this week" with Mr. Trump and the "good news" is that 22 nations, including many in NATO, have since "come together." Rafael Grossi, the International Atomic Energy Agency director, told "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" that he doesn't think "any war" would destroy Iran's nuclear ambitions "unless it was nuclear war, and you go for destruction in an unfathomable way, which we hope, of course, will never be the case." Americans voice a range of goals for the U.S. in Iran, including that it is important to stop Iran's nuclear program, make sure the Iranian people are safe and free -- but also, for most, to end the conflict as quickly as possible, CBS News director of elections and surveys Anthony Salvanto says. With at least four Americans believed to be detained in Iranian prisons, former detainees Siamak Namazi and Emad Shargi, who were held in Iran's notorious Evin prison, CBS News contributor and formerly the U.S. Special Envoy for Hostage Affairs Roger Carstens, and Shargi's sister Neda Sharghi joined "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan" to discuss the situation.
