Beryl Gardinant, a self-proclaimed "humble old man," is a sword instructor at his dojo in a rural, backwater village. In his younger years, he dreamed of glory as a master swordsman, but those days are long behind him. Out of the blue, he receives a visit from a famous former pupil who brings him world-shattering news - he's been appointed as a special instructor for the knights of the Liberion Order! With his life now turned upside down, Beryl travels to the capital and reunites with some of his former students: elite knights, an ace wizard, and even an adventurer who's attained the highest guild rank possible. But why do they all want his tutelage?! As far as he's concerned, they clearly don't need him anymore. Can Beryl live up to his new position? And will he ever get a moment's peace away from his adoring students?!
A wolf-like shadow attacks the teachers, rendering magic unusable near the school.
To investigate the cause of this bizarre situation, Beryl and Fissel, who can fight without magic, storm into the school.
At the same time, the shadow wolf appears in the cafeteria where the Sword Magic students are waiting, and Mui and the others decide to confront it, acknowledging their own inexperience.
What will be the outcome of their respective battles?
A letter arrives for Beryl from the village of Biden.
It is from her father, Mordea, and is a request for her to return home, containing details unique to Biden village.
As the magic academy is on summer break, Beryl invites Myui to come home with her. With
Myui accepting the invitation, Henblitz who has become interested in the village, and Kurni who shows up unannounced, Beryl makes her first trip home, but the very next day an unexpected battle erupts.
The operation to defeat the saberboar has begun.
Along the way, Kurni fulfills his long-held wish to defeat the saberboar and feels a sense of personal growth.
Meanwhile, Landrid makes full use of his experience and knowledge as a former adventurer, and also displays his swordsmanship to the fullest.
Witnessing this, Henblitz is inspired and challenges Landrid to a duel, which Landrid accepts.
The battle between the two shakes the soul of Beryl, and the other swordsman as well.
With the sabre boar nest destroyed and the threat eliminated, the village of Biden is holding its annual festival.
At the feast, Henblitz and Landrid deepen their friendship, while Adel and Edel look after Mui.
Beryl watches the young people enjoying the festival while grilling meat for everyone, and reflects on his own true feelings as he grows older.
Then Mordea appears and takes Beryl to the dojo.
