"George and Mildred" is a British sitcom produced by Thames Television that aired from 1976 to 1979. It was a spin-off from Man About the House and starred Brian Murphy and Yootha Joyce as an ill-matched married couple, George and Mildred Roper.
George and Mildred Roper plan a move to middle class suburbia. Mildred is anxious to impress, but George is happy to remain working class.
The Ropers meet the new neighbours and their invisible dog, and George discusses politics with the local MP.
The Ropers have moved, so George must find a job.
Mildred becomes broody and starts to dream of motherhood - much to George's dismay.
When Mildred finds out that George only has a small endowment, she decides to do something about it.
George begins to resent the fact that Mildred treats the dog better than she does him.
The Ropers discover that the local pub serves draught gin and tonic, and George accuses his next-door neighbour of attempted murder.
Mildred becomes a TV widow when the Ropers's ancient set breaks down.
Looks like something went completely wrong!
