A dated stone fireplace is replaced with brick veneer, an acoustic ceiling is removed and a built-in banquette adds a craftsman-style dining area. Finally, a window & full light door are added along with new lighting to make room brighter.

These homeowners loved their big open floor plan until they tried to make the rooms work. Wall-to-wall carpet is replaced with polished dyed concrete; the dining room is raised and steps are built to create an elegant eat-in area; and a ventless fireplace is added to the living room along with a custom-made water feature. Shoji screen doors are built and hung on a rail system to differentiate the spaces.

Sorry, but right now we don't have any sources for this episode.

A young couple has one big problem between their living room and dining room: a gigantic, unused fireplace. Other than dividing the space in half, this huge brick structure is used only to hold the television in the air. This space is going to be re-invented into a sleek lounge by completely removing the fireplace and replacing it with a new skylight as well as a custom cabinet with two automated TVs and a bar. There will also be a floating table, stone-accented wall, 4x6 beams used for crown molding, and two fire features to give this room a sleek, stylish finish.

Sorry, but right now we don't have any sources for this episode.

A small 1950s kitchen is completely gutted and transformed into an open and eclectic new space! This transformation is a challenge, because one of these homeowners works as a chef, so Josh's challenge is to bring some professionalism to an old kitchen that just isn't cutting it! Before, the small kitchen was just outdated white cabinets, old appliances and ugly tile countertops, but in just three days it takes on a whole new face! Walls are opened up to create an island with custom concrete countertops, reclaimed barn wood is attached to the walls to create a unique backsplash, rich dark cabinets replace the old, a receipt wheel becomes a light fixture, plus these homeowners get brand-new vintage-inspired appliances to create one inviting kitchen!

These two rooms are going to become one with an Asian modern theme and a keyhole entry between them. Starting with tearing out the wall dividing the rooms, this renovation will completely change the space, with a new face on fireplace, skylights, completely new kitchen with custom range hood, bamboo and vinyl floors and sliding shoji screens around the walls.

S03E10 - Home Theater Hub Air Date: 01 February 2011 02:30 -

Sorry, but right now we don't have any sources for this episode.

This boring game room was not cutting it for the man of the house. He wanted a place to watch sports with his buddies with the volume turned way up! To transform it into a proper home theater, the room is enclosed with a completely new soundproof wall. The popcorn ceiling is covered with a pattern of random-length lumber, and the tiny window is replaced with a door leading out to the backyard. A DIY television screen is "painted" on the main wall and surrounded with red laminate tiles for a punch of pizzazz. Finally, a cork floor is installed along with a window seat, which includes storage for various television components.

Sorry, but right now we don't have any sources for this episode.

This 10-year-old room addition was dilapidated and in desperate need of an overhaul, plus this tiny house didn't have much room for entertaining. Transforming the space into a lounge begins with tearing down the three rotting walls, rebuilding them, and covering them with stone. The ceiling drywall is removed, exposing a beamed ceiling, and "carpenter" windows are built and installed. Finally, a stand-up bar is built using galvanized metal and suspended shelves are hung from the ceiling.

First up, they address the size of her room by raising the ceiling and reusing vintage ceiling tiles. Plus, she's an avid reader and needs a place to store all of her books! In three short days, he builds out the room, giving it a rustic feel. The fireplace surround is covered with stacked stone and the house's original mantel is reused. The hearth and entryway are laid with locally harvested blue stone. The vaulted ceiling is covered with white knotty pine planks, and surrounding ceiling trim is attached and stained.
