Jersey and Guernsey

Operations manager Robin prepares to welcome the world's largest wooden sailing ship, Gothenborg, to Jersey's shores at St Helier's Port. The harbour's rocky entrance is a huge undertaking and with bad weather thrown into the mix, Robin and his team need to rise to the challenge and ensure her safe arrival. At the annual Jersey boat show, chocolatier Phani Kundeti gets set to showcase some brand-new chocolate creations, and in Guernsey, farmers Nik and Nikki prepare to hand over the family farm to daughters Merrie and Elise.

It's Liberation Day across the islands, and celebrations are underway to mark the anniversary of their liberation from Nazi occupation. On Jersey, cider and sausage producers Richard and Sarah Matlock pitch up to sell their produce. This is one of the most important dates in their calendar - and with 600 sausages to shift - they're banking on it being a good one.

On Guernsey, tearoom owner Robert shuts up shop to lead the island's Liberation Day celebration with a military vehicle cavalcade. Timing is key for the procession to run smoothly, but will the 80-year-old vehicles be in perfect synchronisation?

Fishing couple, Gabby and Leyton head out to sea to catch mackerel and lobster off Jersey's shores.  They supply locally caught seafood to customers across the island, but their success is dependent on the goodwill of mother nature.  With a weekend stall in St. Aubin they need to catch plenty to keep their loyal customers happy.

On Guernsey, Thai take-way owners Tan and Paul are looking for a taste of Asia. With a craving for produce typically found in her home country of Thailand, Tan grows her own range from her allotment. But when she introduces a hive of bees to help pollinate the garden, she finds her queen may have buzzed off.

And passionate animal rescue worker Steve is working hard to protect Guernsey's most vulnerable wildlife. He works round the clock to provide care for the island's endangered animals, including over 100 hedgehogs. After months of rehab, he's hoping today is the day that some of his spikey residents can be released back into the great outdoors.

On Guernsey, sea-faring couple Buz White and Tess Woodnut operate an island-hopping charter boat. After 40 years volunteering for the RNLI, Buz has finally acquired his dream vessel – a retired Tyne Class lifeboat. With the help of a group of friends, he and Tess take it onto the idyllic island's crystal blue waters for its make or break maiden voyage as a cruiser.

Chris Dalkner lives with his wife in Jersey on Elizabeth Castle's island rock. Daily, he makes the transformation into an 18th Century Master Gunner to put visitors through their paces and educate them on the fortress's rich history and shows off the power of one of its impressive cannons.

Oyster farmer Justin De Carteret is heading by boat from Guernsey to his oyster beds on the beautiful island of Herm. With this premium seafood in demand at restaurants across the UK and the Channel Islands, Justin hopes to harvest plenty of large healthy oysters but he needs to overcome the changing tides in order to collect his pearly bounty.

On Jersey, sailing duo Deb and Chris are set to take part in the historic Gorey Regatta, and they're hoping to regain their title. But as the race gets underway, they could be on course for a collision. Some quick thinking gets them back on course, but their race for the title might be over.

Luke Wheadon is a proud Guernsey man and founder of Wheadon's gin using locally foraged ingredients in his handcrafted drinks. In a bid to be the drink of choice in all bars and restaurants across the islands, he has a new range of house spirits brewing. But before they go to market, he's got an important pre-launch tasting with some familiar locals.

On Guernsey, Angela and a team of conservationists are on a mission to rid the island of Sourfig - an invasive weed that is spreading across the island and preventing the growth of native species. The team gather at a known hotspot to remove this troublesome weed, but in doing so, uncover a secret that reveals a part of Guernsey's history.

On the tiny island of Sark, where the only mode of transport is by horse, carriage owner Helen is training her newest recruit Reggie. With Helen's oldest serving horse Willow heading for retirement, Reggie has big horseshoes to fill to ensure this timeless tradition can continue for future generations.

On Jersey, greengrocer Bill and his daughter Grace are working on the family farm, educating the next generation of farmers. After Bill's failed attempts at growing corn, they're hoping these budding new farmers will have more luck as it's a top seller on Bill's market stall.
