Jon Almaas and his wife Ellen's dream of moving to a farm becomes reality, but life as a farmer becomes tougher than Jon had expected.
Spring arrives in record time and the lambing on Ellen and Jon's farm turns out to be severely hampered.
Jon is busy with the spring planting, and the fields are getting good nutrition from pig manure, which all of Brårud is experiencing. Ellen has her hands full with following up on lambs.
Jon and Ellen plan to make cheese from goat's milk. This dream takes Jon and Lars to France. Will the grain at Brårud sprout when there is a drought crisis?
The weeds are to be controlled without the use of pesticides. New tenants move in, and Ellen is irritated by an unusable chicken coop.
