Adapted from the popular novel Rebirth of the Female General, this drama follows He Yan, the eldest daughter of the He family forced to disguise herself as the family's legitimate heir He Rufei to preserve their noble status. Disguised as a man, she enlists in the Yezhou army, determined to reclaim her rightful legacy. Her journey intertwines with the gentle and noble Chu Zhao, while fate reunites her with Xiao Jue. Xiao Jue is suspicious of Hee Yan's identity and is repeatedly testing her loyalty. Hee Yan finally proves her capabilities when she tops the Yezhou military exams. Through life-threatening trials including the Sun family incident, Princess Jiyang affair, and the defense of Rundu City, their adversarial relationship gradually transforms into mutual understanding and affection forged in the fires of war.
