At night, a strange couple is killed on an empty suburban highway – she, Evgenia Tikhomirova, a blogger from Moscow known for scandalous revelations. He is Roman Perelovich, a simple ecologist, an employee of Krasnodar University. The main character of the series, the head of the criminal investigation department of Sochi, police Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Sotnikov, nicknamed "Reckless", has to find out who killed these people and why. He will be assisted in this by his loyal friend, Ivan Kubatko, the senior officer of the UGRA, and Oksana Grigorieva, a young investigative officer, as well as other colleagues in the Department, commanded by Police Colonel Vazgen Sargisovich Karapetyan, a cautious and diplomatic chief. But it's not easy for a Reckless Driver to fully focus on finding criminals. There are a number of attacks on visitors' cars in the city. People left without documents cannot leave Sochi, and Sotnikov is directing all his efforts to search for intruders.

Suddenly, as a "reinforcement", a new acquaintance of the Reckless Irina Nazarova joins the team formed to search for the killers of the environmentalist and blogger, who actually turns out to be an investigator for particularly important cases of the Investigative Committee of Russia. And after Nazarova, who happened to be in Sochi by accident, the special operations officer from the Russian Interior Ministry, Lieutenant Colonel Semenov, also arrives here. Semenov is being chased across Russia by an elusive gang who are robbing motorists on country roads with a pistol stolen from a traffic police inspector. It was with this pistol that the environmentalist was shot on the highway. Meanwhile, the Reckless Driver goes on the trail of an elusive criminal who opens the cars of visitors, but his joy turns out to be incomplete: as luck would have it, at this time Shumilov, the boyfriend of the murdered blogger Tikhomirova, raises an uproar on the Web about the inaction of the police.…

On the highway in the morning, a jeep chases a motorcyclist until he throws a bag on the road. Hamlet, the taxi driver, is a witness to the incident. But no one goes to the police, as if this incident never happened. Sotnikov learns through agents that his old acquaintance, the well-known businessman and restaurateur Gevorg Poghosyan, was robbed. Employees of the security company caught up with the robber and returned the stolen money. In a private conversation, Poghosyan refuses to cooperate with the police. Meanwhile, Dauntless detains Shumilov right at the hotel, the administrator of which, a good friend of Dauntless, provides the investigation with a recording of the debauchery tripled by the restless Shumilov on the day of Tikhomirova's death. Nazarova believes that there is more than enough evidence to bring Shumilov to justice.

The next morning, a new armed raid was carried out on Poghosyan's loan center. The reckless man is trying to get on the trail of the elusive robber, and the famous biker Traumatologist, whose motorcycle was used to commit the first robbery, helps him find him. However, during the investigation, it turns out that all the crimes committed on motorcycles have nothing to do with the biker gang, and the reasons for them need to be looked for in a completely different area. The irreplaceable Cube helps the Reckless Driver in this. Meanwhile, the persistent Grigorieva manages to find out that Shumilov, who was detained by a Reckless Driver, cannot actually be involved in the murder of his girlfriend. But even convincing evidence of the suspect's innocence cannot change the position taken by Karapetyan and Semenov. The first one decides to report a high-profile murder case at all costs, and the second one is ready to do anything not to scare off the gang.

Investigating the double murder of a blogger and an environmentalist, Nazarova finds out that Perelovich took the equipment for an environmental rapid test from the laboratory on the eve of his death. However, there was no suitcase with test tubes in the victim's car.… Another armed attack has been committed on the night highway. The driver of the Gazelle was seriously injured, and a large amount of money was stolen. Dauntless and his staff are actively looking for the villain. One version leads the Reckless Driver to a promising suspect, the boyfriend of an accountant working in a robbed company. But then Semenov intervenes in the work of the department again, who is convinced that the gang he was looking for also took part in this episode. He tries to apprehend a dangerous criminal on his own, as a result, the villain takes the service weapon from Semenov and runs away.

Semyonov, whose career is hanging in the balance, hiding the fact of the loss of weapons, launches a frenzy of activity to capture the criminal and even tries to shoot him himself, but the robber manages to escape again. But Dauntless already knows where to wait for his appearance, and when the criminal makes an attempt to pay with stolen money for his mother's operation, he is ambushed by Dauntless. Desperate, the robber takes Nazarova hostage and Alice, the Reckless Man's daughter, who happened to be nearby. Dauntless will have to show all his tact and ability to communicate with people in order to convince the unfortunate guy to surrender and release the hostages in exchange for surgery for his mother and protection from Semenov. Nazarova, who for the first time observes the work of Dauntless with her own eyes, is imbued with respect for him, in which there is another, stronger feeling.

Andrei Belov, a famous Olympic cycling medalist, is killed in Sochi. Karapetyan, the press and the city authorities are beginning to put pressure on the department, demanding the speedy disclosure of this crime, especially since the examination clearly established that Belov was poisoned. Investigating this case, Reckless uncovers a whole tangle of contradictions and mutual resentments within the team that came to Sochi for training. The coach, his wife, teammates, and the doctor all blame each other, hoping to deflect suspicion from themselves. At first, the investigation's suspicions focus on Belov's main competitor, the second number of the Zemtsov team, but Dima soon learns that Lena Burlakova, the girlfriend of the deceased, is secretly in the city. Semenov is almost certain that the gang he is catching has left Sochi, and Nazarova learns that Chernyshev, a friend of the deceased Perelovich, disappeared in the city some time ago.

The news of Belov's death is a real blow to Lena. The reckless man hardly brings her to her senses and quickly finds out that Burlakova has an ironclad alibi – she was almost constantly in the hospital and never met Belov. But still, having eliminated all the other likely suspects, Reckless returns to Lena's figure and decides to take a closer look at her. It turns out that this seemingly simple girl, hopelessly in love with her idol, has a quirky mind and great foresight. Until the end, still not believing that Burlakova is a criminal, the Reckless Man learns from Dima that she has secretly escaped from Sochi, and rushes after her in pursuit. The date that the Reckless Man set for Nazarova is disrupted at the last moment due to the appearance on the doorstep of Irina's room of the head of the Department for particularly important cases of the United Kingdom Prigozhin, with whom she has a long-standing relationship.

A wave of hijackings swept through Sochi. They all have three things in common: the stolen cars were abandoned nearby on the same day, all the cars were coming from Abkhazia, and all the cars in Abkhazia had their windshields smashed. The reckless driver quickly realizes that these hijackings are somehow connected. He asks Karapetyan to contact the Abkhaz side, but the warden refuses and asks him to get evidence first. At his own risk, the Reckless Driver himself warns the border guards, and his foresight turns out to be very useful. Nazarova, still feeling awkward after the incident, tries to explain herself to the Reckless Driver. And he suddenly goes to meet them, causing jealousy on the part of Grigorieva, who herself has long been indifferent to her boss.

Sochi receives urgent news from St. Petersburg. Another attack was carried out there, similar in style to similar cases in other regions. The gang was active again, and once again a trucker was killed on the highway. A large amount of money was stolen. Nazarova, Semenov and Prigozhin leave to investigate the incident in hot pursuit. Meanwhile, the Reckless Man himself, along with Grigorieva, goes to Abkhazia, ignoring Karapetyan's ban. On the spot, they try in every possible way to attract attention to themselves under the guise of tourists and substitute their car for a bookmark. The trap works, and already on the territory of Sochi, the Reckless Driver catches criminals who are trying to steal ... the wrong car at all. At that time, the Abkhaz colleagues arrested the entire gang. Dauntless returns to Sochi. During the trip, he and Grigorieva became close, but the Reckless Man is burdened by this relationship. He regrets that he never had time to tell Nazarova how much she really means to him.

Dauntless is called to St. Petersburg to participate in a joint group that the ministry is forming as part of the investigation of the gang case. Alice joined him on the trip, dreaming of visiting St. Petersburg universities. Arriving at his destination, Dauntless is met with a cold reception. Semenov, who doesn't need him here at all, easily agrees to send a Reckless Driver to the most remote areas of the region to check suspicious cars, one of which the gang could use to attack. After checking all the options, the Reckless Driver finds a car that matches the description, and then the first suspect– former traffic cop Kapaev. Semenov, who by that time had lost all other options, immediately seized on this version. While her father is busy at work, Alice tries to establish contact with Vadik, but he keeps slipping away from her.…

Upon learning that Kapaev's former partner, Captain Grinelnik, is still serving in the traffic police, Reckless meets with him and immediately realizes that he is deliberately hiding the truth about his comrade. Reckless decides to follow Grinelnik, but is forced to distract himself by solving the problems of Alice, who quarreled with Vadik. After sending his daughter to the hotel, the Reckless Driver barely manages to get to the traffic police post in order to save the life of a Loafer, who is attacked by one of the bandits nicknamed Diathesis. Next, Valentina Taverdina falls into the hands of a Reckless Man, who went to the rescue of her accomplice. But the last member of the gang is still hiding from the police in the countryside. Having learned the address from Grinelnik, Dauntless and Semenov are sent to be detained.

Dauntless returns to Sochi as a hero, having exposed the most dangerous gang in Russia. But there's no time to rest. Karapetyan is approached by the wife of a police general from Krasnoyarsk, who was robbed by a beach gigolo. Fearing a scandal, Karapetyan asks Dauntless to investigate the case informally. Albert manages to find the swindler quickly, but the Reckless Man does not have time to interrogate him: someone killed a gigolo almost under the nose of Kubatko, who was guarding him. The reckless man finds out that before Albert died, he tried to sell a laptop he stole from the general's wife. According to journalist Onopko, to whom Albert offered this deal, the computer's memory contains compromising information on businessman Semansky.… Nazarova, who remained in St. Petersburg, learns from Taverdina during interrogation that Tikhomirova and Perelovich were dead even before the gang appeared. And the bandits simply threw away the strange suitcase with the devices they found in the car.

Fishermen are fishing out of the sea for the corpse of Sochi's chief ecologist Chernyshev, whom Nazarova unsuccessfully searched for recently. Despite the condition of the body, the Reckless Driver is sure that Chernyshev was killed. Nazarova is not allowed to go to Sochi to search for Perelovich's briefcase, she asks Dauntless to find this important piece of evidence and returns to Sochi on her own to continue the investigation in private. Semansky's messenger, as it turns out, did meet with Albert and took his laptop from him, but another person who was monitoring all the movements of the gigolo may be involved in the murder. Having established his identity, Grigorieva and Likhach find Albert's new victim and his possible killer.

Kosachev, the drummer of the famous Russian pop singer Vlad Zvezdny, was found near his hotel with a fractured head, and Kubatko's wife Svetlana is very much looking forward to his performance. A version of the robbery immediately arises – Kosachev's pockets were picked. Dima manages to track Kosachev's phone using GPS. Caught red-handed, the new owner of the phone, Virab, immediately turned in the seller of the device, who, in turn, told Dauntless and Kubatko a strange story that allegedly someone had simply thrown Kosachev's phone and watch into the bushes, where he went to refresh himself... Dauntless begins searching for a suspected woman in a white jacket. The expert who examined Perelovich's suitcase makes an unequivocal conclusion – before his death, the ecologist discovered an open cattle burial ground.

Prigozhin, who has not come to terms with Nazarova's unauthorized departure, asks Semenov to join the investigation in Sochi and at the same time keep an eye on his colleague. Continuing to search for the culprit in the attack on Kosachev, the Reckless Man finds out that a few years ago he persuaded one of the fans of Zvezdny to have sexual contact. As Grigorieva found out, the girl wrote a statement to the local police department, but the police hushed up the case, and Kosachev escaped punishment. Dauntless finds the girl, suspecting that she might have attacked the drummer out of revenge. However, the girl has an absolute alibi. But the Reckless Man finds out that the mother of the raped girl works as a chef in the cafe at the hotel where Kosachev lived.

The search for the cattle burial ground becomes a thread that should lead to the mastermind of the murders of Tikhomirova and Perelovich. Semenov decides to check the suspected construction site owned by businessman Sverdlovsky personally. But there he is detained by security. The scandal that has arisen forces Sverdlovsky to let the police into his facility, which turns out to be absolutely clean. The corpse of Igor Zotov, the black digger, is found in the forest. Kubatko, who once put Zotov behind bars, goes in search of a possible killer. Zotov's wife, Nonna, left her husband as soon as he got his sentence, and her new boyfriend, Kozhakhar, comes under suspicion. Kubatko decides to follow him, but Kozhakhar quickly notices the "tail" and tries to hide.

The reckless man wakes up in a hospital room and immediately returns to work, despite the doctors' prohibitions. The criminal who attacked him fled with the papers, but now it is clear that in their investigation they and Nazarova came very close to solving the mystery. Scouring websites selling antique weapons, Dima comes across a photo of a knife similar to the one found by Zotov. The reseller, detained by Reckless and Kubatko, "turns in" his supplier, whom Kubatko suddenly remembers. He was a witness in Zotov's old case. At this time, the medical examiner tells Dauntless the terrible news: it turns out that Zotov was infected with anthrax! The reckless man pins Zotov's killer to the wall and finds out in which area he has been fishing lately.

Experts discover a cattle burial ground at the second Sverdlovsk construction site. But Sverdlovsky is dead, and suspicion immediately falls on the head of his security service, Grad, who disappeared without a trace after the death of the chief. Grigorieva finds the address of the house where Grad may be hiding, but there the Reckless Man finds his dead body, abandoned by the killer on the doorstep. The obstacle turned out to be the Grad dog, whose mouth remained covered in the blood of the criminal. Meanwhile, Semyonov learns that the company that invested money in the construction was opened by Ochigava under a false name. As Dima finds out, it was Ochigawa who received the call from Grad immediately after the announcement of Tikhomirova and Perelovich's visit to the construction site.…

Immediately after Ochigava's disappearance, Nazarova was informed that all the money had disappeared from the accounts of Sverdlovsky's company, and the car of the accountant of Rechnoy's company with the owner inside was found at the bottom of the cliff. But fingerprints betray a forgery of the head. It turns out that Rechnoy is actually alive, but his brother crashed in the car. Dima finds out that ferry tickets to Batumi were bought in the name of Rechnoy's brother. Dauntless insists on being detained, but Semenov demands that all operatives go in pursuit of Ochigava. Reckless, confident that this is only a distraction by the killer, goes to the port with Grigorieva and Kubatko, where he engages in a fight with two criminals at once. The detained Ochigawa, in exchange for leniency, agrees to extradite his employer. To expose the villain, Dauntless prepares a clever trap for him...
