Love in the Country is a brand new dating show which will air in 2023. The series will centre around seven rural romantics all of whom are looking for love, but feel their locations make it more difficult to meet someone. Whether they are farmers, publicans or cafe owners, each of them is tied to where they live, and needs love to come to them.
Sara Cox helps more people living and working in remote rural areas to find love. The first episode introduces Grace, a sheep farmer from Wales, and Martin, a dairy farmer from Yorkshire. Grace faces inheriting her father's business when he retires, so is looking for a partner who will be willing to share the responsibility. Martin has not had a relationship in more than a decade, so leaves behind his Doncaster roots to attend a speed dating event in London attended by women from across the UK who have written to the show.
Katy picks her four favourite letter writers to meet face-to-face at a speed dating event in London, including 74-year-old former professional footballer Carl, and painter and decorator John. Meanwhile, it's decision time for dairy farmers Martin and Grace, who have each invited three potential suitors back to their farms. Both are looking for a partner that will fall in love with not only them, but also their rural lifestyle and are hoping sparks will fly with at least one of their guests during their weekend stay.
Sheepdog trainer Katy welcomes three suitors to her home to try out rural life in the remote Cumbrian fells, and Sara heads to the Cumbrian coast to deliver some love letters to dairy farmer David.
Sara Cox heads to Hay-on-Wye to deliver an impressive pile of love letters to vet George and arranges for him to speed date his favourite letter writers.
