"Magic City: An American Fantasy" begins by immersing viewers in the club's allure; before the club, there was the man - Michael Barney, a natural hustler, he was so gifted that people started calling him Mr. Magic.
Magic City became the epicenter of entertainment, drawing legendary celebrities before and during their rise to superstardom; the secret sauce was Mr. Magic's vision; he demanded that his club have the best of everything.
With Mr. Magic in prison, the schemers played, Magic City spiraled into lawlessness as DJs, bartenders, and dancers ran their own side hustles, each believing they were bigger than the club.
The notorious Black Mafia Family drug cartel sets up shop in Magic City; thus begins the "Make It Rain" era of the club, promising more money (and violence) than ever before.
As Mr. Magic clung to his legacy, his son Lil Magic stepped in, and legend Gigi Maguire redefined polework; Grayer than when he began, Mr. Magic prepares to pass the torch, backed by decades of triumph and reinvention.
