From superb television ratings on Outdoor Channel to a fast-building fan base around the country to the fiery competition among the original 24 Major League Fishing (MLF) pros themselves, the MLF game is arguably the hottest thing in bass fishing right now. And now it's about to get even hotter with the addition of the brand new Major League Fishing GEICO Select events (Summit Select and Challenge Select) to the fold, an opportunity for 24 new MLF anglers to experience the high-level intensity and pressure-packed action of fishing under the MLF SCORETRACKER LIVE real-time leaderboard system. Joining the MLF family in the first ever Select competition are anglers Scott Ashmore, Brent Chapman, Jason Christie, Keith Combs, Ott DeFoe, Kurt Dove, Paul Elias, Todd Faircloth, Randy Howell, Andy Montgomery, Cliff Pace, Brandon Palaniuk, Keith Poche, Marty Robinson, Mark Rose, Casey Scanlon, Morizo Shimizu, Kevin Short, Fletcher Shryock, Michael Simonton, Scott Suggs, Gerald Swindle, James Watson and Jacob Wheeler.Out of the 24 bass fishing pros listed above, those who rise to the top at the 2015 Bass Pro Shops Summit Select and Challenge Select– which is six days of fishing on waters in and around a host city – will earn coveted spots to the Jack Link's Major League Fishing 2015 General Tire Summit Cup and Shell Rotella Challenge Cup. In all, a total of six Cup-level spots will be awarded from the 2015 Summit Select and six spots for the Challenge Select. How will those spots be earned? To start with, a Select angler can advance by winning one of four daily qualifying rounds being contested. For those anglers who fail to do so but manage to finish in second, third or fourth place during each daily qualifying round, there is still hope. That's because those anglers will advance to the Survival Round. For the anglers who come out on top in each of two days of Survival Round competition, spots also will be awarded to the Summit Cup and Challenge Cup.
