From seedy taverns to the muffled hallways of Versailles, from brothels to the Châtelet prisons, he tracks and stakes out suspects, questions witnesses, gathers evidence, foils traps, and unveils plotters. Nicolas Le Floch plunges viewers into the mysteries of 18th Century Paris, a world teeming with crime, debauchery and theft.
The night a precious flute was stolen, a prisoner escaped and was murdered. Nicolas was charged to recover the flute. While doing investigations, he met difficulties and was attacked. Stabbed by assassins, he was left in the water to die.
The year is 1778. Commissaire N. Le Floch is asked to investigate the theft of Queen Marie Antoinette famous necklace . At the same time, the cadaver of a drowned victim is found in the Grand Canal.
