A coldhearted hit man (William Hurt) kills a toy-company bigwig, but his world turns topsy-turvy when he later receives a mysterious package (complete with "bonus surprises") from the company at his luxurious high-rise abode in San Francisco.
A honeymoon in England turns horrific for a newlywed American couple (Eion Bailey, Claire Forlani) when they visit---and get trapped inside---an ominous London neighborhood that is actually a portal to another dimension.
William H. Macy plays dual roles in this imaginative tale about an author who copes with a family tragedy by writing himself into the noirish dramas of his own novel, where he interacts with his main character, a hard-boiled investigator in 1938 Los Angeles.
A documentary filmmaker (Ron Livingston) recalls the life and work of his idealistic, genius brother (Henry Thomas), whose cure-all experiment to end global violence, war and mayhem turns horribly wrong.
On his drive home from a conference, a noted novelist (Tom Berenger) spontaneously buys a creepy painting at a yard sale. When the artwork begins to transform and become more menacing, he realizes he must destroy it before it kills him.
A released convict (Jeremy Sisto) is told by his dying friend of a four-part map that details the location of $3.5 million from a robbery. With one quarter of the map in hand, he goes on a violent odyssey to find the three remaining sections.
After he's paralyzed from a snake bite, a vacationing businessman (Richard Thomas) is mistakenly declared dead and taken to the autopsy room. Completely conscious but unable to move or speak, he bears witness to his own autopsy, performed by a female doctor (Greta Scacchi) and her student.
A couple (Steven Weber, Kim Delaney) on a "pristine wilderness" adventure take a wrong turn and end up in Rock and Roll Heaven, Ore., a Rockwellian hamlet that is not on any map and is populated by deceased rock icons. But something ominous lurks beneath the sunny surface, and the couple soon realize they may be trapped in the town forever.
