Siaja is a young Inuk mother who wants to build a new future for herself. After a spontaneous — and extremely public — exit from her marriage, Siaja has to find a job and a place for her and her young daughter to live, and fast. Her only option might be to go from one complicated living situation to another — where Siaja's dreams of a fresh start collide with some long-kept secrets. To top it all off, this is happening in a small Arctic town where everybody knows your business.
Feeling stuck in her life in her tiny Arctic community, Siaja decides it's time to shake things up during the annual Spring Festival, but her plans are derailed by personal upheavals.
Siaja struggles to pick up the pieces and prove herself capable of handling more than just her messy personal life.
Siaja's first day of work goes awry when she accidentally starts a fire at the dump; Alistair and Kuuk visit the community center to discuss Ice Cove's candidacy to host a polar research station.
Siaja jumps at the chance to bring new energy to the community center's weekly Elders' Night, but her rousing success has unexpected consequences.
Six weeks later as Spring continues to thaw the Arctic, the community comes together to challenge Ice Cove's rivals to a not-so-friendly game of northern baseball.
Love is not in the air in Ice Cove as Siaja re-enters the dating world in epic style, Neevee and Alistair reach a turning point, and Kuuk has a surprise visitor.
