This is a humorous drama TV show centered around the Norwegian Pension Fund, affectionately called Oljefondet. The fund was created to invest the enormous amount of tax renevue from the Norwegian oil and gas industry. The fund is there to secure the future costs of pensioners and the socialist way of free health care amongst other things. The show follows some fictional investors working for the fund investing the billions and more billions according to the rules for ethical investments that the Norwegian politicians put in place. Following these complex ethical guidelines in a big cynical world of big business, creates some interesting complications. Currently the fund owns 1%, well, of the world.
Per Grepp is the wonder boy of the Norwegian financial industry. Katrine Halland in the Councel on Ethics must keep him and the fund managers in line.
Katrine is entering an electric car partnership with Volvo. Per tries to sabotage a meeting. Odd is has to deal with a pallet of Chinese Yuan.
Per is forced to visit the environmentally unfriendly Yanokovic's head office in Moscow, but did not expect Katrine as his travel companion.
Per learns that it is impossible to fire people in Norway. Katrine smells a rat when Per invites Bjørnar along to a top-secret meeting.
Katrine is in charge of the office Christmas party, so they've run out of booze. Per and Katrine set out to raid the government wine vault.
The Oil Fund's reputation is left in tatters. Katrine advocates transparency but Per believes image beats openness, so he hires a trendy PR agency.
Bjørg is visited by the Nobel Peace Prize winner and sends Per and Katrine to London to buy a street. Per's opinionated daughter Thelma tags along.
The fashion brand G&N uses child labour. After threats of sanctions from Katrine, they come to Oslo. Per tries to put out the fire.
Per's position is threatened when Katrine and the Council on Ethics halve his area of responsibility, and announce a vacancy as Per's right-hand man.
Per exits the Oil Fund and moves to LA for a job offer that is too good to be true. For Katrine, life without Per is not quite as she imagined.
