On October 7, Ellay and Ariel Golan, along with their daughter Yael, escaped their burning home after it was set ablaze by Hamas terrorists. Badly injured, they hid in a tractor cabin until IDF soldiers rescued them, with Ellay spending 58 days in a coma.
At 26, Inbal Liberman became the first female head of security at Kibbutz Nir Am. On October 7, she mobilized her security team, distributing weapons, directing families to safety, and repelling multiple terrorist attempts to breach the kibbutz fence.
Omer Shem Tov, kidnapped from the Nova Festival, spent 50 days in a 40-meter-deep pit in Gaza, enduring darkness and isolation. Later moved to a bunker, he adapted by cooking and learning Arabic, despite abuse from Hamas terrorists.
