Lieke and Wouter are preparing for the arrival of their baby. Max is studying for his final exams and Merel is looking for a new job. Erik and Hannah are trying to get used to their new life as a family. Things aren't going so well between Pip and Danny, and the relationship of Nina and Mees has become a bit dull. Fabie's parents come over for dinner, resulting in an awkward evening. Hansje has to deal with an unpleasant situation in her student house.

Her mother is not doing well, and Nina is struggling with this. Merel applies for a job at a small law firm. Tim receives bad news about an old school friend. Carola is asked out on a date, and Fabie is concerned about the age difference between her and Laszlo. Marcel decides to renovate his garden shed so his niece can live there, and Merel returns to her therapist to deal with her mother's shadow once and for all.

Hansje starts working as an intern at Maarten's law firm. Erik tries to combine caring for Benjamin with his work, but things go awry. Dina is once again under considerable pressure at work, and things are not going well between Pip and Danny. Tim has a sad conversation with his old school friend Guus. Fabie is becoming increasingly concerned about Pip. Lieke and Wouter invite their parents over for dinner so they can get to know each other.

Merel has a new job. A special friendship develops between Hansje and her colleague Sjors. Lieke and Wouter look after Benjamin for two days so that Hannah and Erik can get away for a while, but it turns out to be anything but a relaxing weekend for all four of them. Pip throws herself into the nightlife and tells Laszlo about the problems between her and Danny. It's Nina's birthday and she's looking forward to a fun evening. Meanwhile, Max and Tim are increasingly concerned about Dina's mounting work stress.

Merel has nice new colleagues and feels at home in her new job. Lieke starts seriously preparing for the birth. Carola makes plans to go on vacation alone and goes to the movies with Marcel. Things go completely wrong between Danny and Pip, and Dina makes a drastic decision. Erik receives good news from Australia, but is having a hard time getting used to the fact that Hannah and Benjamin no longer live with him.

Fabie is unable to get through to Pip, even when she visits her in Zwolle. Nina is also unable to reach her friend and feels powerless. The friendship between Sjors and Hansje deepens. Erik looks forward to Chris's return, Marcel works hard on the garden shed, and Carola conducts an extremely emotional funeral. Mees and Max pass their exams, and Tim's birthday is celebrated in style. Laszlo has an unexpected question for Pip and Mees.

Merel has to go to the hospital for tests, and Tim and Dina are worried about Max's upcoming drinking holiday. Chris is annoyed by Erik's intrusive meddling and talks to Merel about it. Nina and Danny are increasingly concerned about Pip, and Tim has an emotional conversation with Guus. John ends up in the hospital after a nasty fall, where Carola runs into an old acquaintance. Hansje introduces Sjors to Chris during a dinner party.

Sjors and Chris are in love, and Hansje finds that quite difficult. Wouter and Lieke are starting to feel the tension mounting as the birth approaches. Merel is worried about Bastiaan and goes to visit him. Carola has a confrontational conversation with her parents, and Dina says goodbye to her colleagues at school. Marcel is touched when Tim and Erik come to help him with the garden shed. Fabie organizes a kind of intervention conversation with Pip, but it doesn't go well at all.
