Jimena and Sara Elizondo are captivated by the workers Eva receives at the hacienda. Juan fights with Franco because of Rosario, the bar singer, and over Franco's opposition to his plan for revenge.

Juan decides that he will kill Gabriela as soon as he sees her. Gabriela, Fernando, and Norma return from their trip. Fernando asks the workers for the plans of the cabin.

Juan agrees to seduce the Elizondo women, while his brothers grow concerned about his attitude after meeting Norma. Gabriela pressures her daughter to begin responding to Fernando as a wife should.

Juan confronts Armando after learning that he was the one who attacked Franco. Fernando explains to the Elizondo family why there is a feud between them, and tells Jimena what is going on with Rosario.

Jimena is depressed, and Leandro convinces her to change her attitude, while Franco looks for Rosario at the bar. Armando sets his sights on the business he wants to buy and plots how to get rid of his rival.

The police investigate the altercation between the Reyes brothers and Armando, who stays at the bar so as not to arouse suspicion; the police question him. The disappearance of Jimena and Óscar alarms everyone.

The Elizondo women are heartbroken, and Juan grows desperate because there is no news about his brother. Óscar and Jimena find help while crossing the desert and wonder whether it is an hallucination.

Norma assures Fernando that she will give herself to him as his wife, and he reacts with arrogance. Jimena asks about Libia, despite Juan's efforts to keep those memories hidden.

Franco calls an ambulance to save Óscar; Juan confirms that the Elizondo family knows everything about Libia. Eva confesses what she did and her resentment toward Gabriela, and reveals the secret about her daughter.

Armando orders an attack against the Reyes brothers. Franco finds an opportunity to turn around his family's misfortune after losing Rosario. Norma is determined to forget Juan.

Ruth approaches Óscar and offers him her support on every level. Juan is very bitter about Franco's decision. Eduvina is happy making plans with Franco, who signs all the documents that certify him as the absolute owner of the Trueba fortune.

With ill intent, Gabriela asks Fernando whether Juan gives in to Dínora's insinuations. Norma tells Juan that the child will be named Juan David and that she will have him baptized. After the baptism, Juan introduces his son to all the employees.

Dínora makes up a story for Norma claiming she is Juan's girlfriend. He cannot rest easy, seeks out the mother of his child, and tries to clear everything up when another lie drives them apart. Franco puts Armando in his place.

Norma falls once again for Dínora's ruse, as she comes up with an outrageous story with Gabriela as her accomplice; Martín grows suspicious of his daughter. Jimena returns to the commercial shoot, stumbling along the way.

The thugs plant a bomb at the Reyes ranch but get the wrong car; Franco realizes it was an attempt on his life. Martín advises Sara and confronts Gabriela and Fernando.

Franco arrives at the restaurant and Armando is impressed; Reyes blames Rosario for the attack because she was chasing him. Martín tells Norma that Dínora, Gabriela, and Fernando want to separate her from Juan.

Óscar and Jimena drag out their divorce; he asks her to help Juan, and Franco does the same with Sara. Both women promise to talk to Norma. Rosario acknowledges that her marriage is a failure.

Norma resigns from the clinic; she is frightened by Fernando's closeness to Juan David. Ruth also leaves the fashion house due to pressure from her mother. Juan refuses to attend Dínora's dinner.

Dínora sets a trap to compromise Juan, but Franco and Óscar plan another one for her. Ruth tells Raquel what Calixto said about her mother, and Rosario asks Armando for a divorce.

Juan does not attend the dinner, and Dínora becomes upset by the latest snub. Franco and Óscar make it clear to Dínora that Juan only loves Norma. The Elizondos begin to think Martín has been kidnapped, while he is actually blissfully happy with Pepa.

Juan and Norma look for Dínora, see her in an embarrassing situation, and she is unable to explain what happened, trapped in her web of lies. Gabriela and Fernando ruin Martín's party.

Martín is on the brink of death; his granddaughters cry beside him because the doctor said it is not worth taking him to the hospital. Gabriela sobs in anguish, while Fernando, on the other hand, feels relief.

Fernando follows Sara and, from hiding, sees her with Franco, so he insults her and makes up lies about her; she slaps him, and he goes looking for the perfect ally. Ruth defends the Reyes and Leandro.

At the Elizondo ranch, Rosario swears to Sara that she will fight for Franco. Norma questions her sister, who, in front of Jimena, says that she loves him. Ruth overhears that she is adopted, and Raquel lies to her.

Sara notices the two men stalking Franco and reacts quickly. Ruth, not knowing where to go, runs away from Raquel's house. Dínora looks for Gabriela with yet another scheme against Juan and Norma.

Ruth lies awake in anguish and Eva comforts her. Hortencia faints upon seeing Libia's ghost and asks for forgiveness. Fernando challenges Sara, while Memo carries out his boss Armando's order.

Hortencia trembles because Libia has returned to take revenge. Manolo confesses what happened the night the young woman committed suicide after visiting the Elizondos. Memo tells Armando that he killed Rosario.

Juan tells Norma why Ruth sought them out. Jimena is furious, thinking that she likes Óscar. Melisa visits Raquel accompanied by her children, while Gabriela advises Fernando.

Memo sabotages Armando's car brakes to finish him off, but someone else ends up in the accident. Gabriela is annoyed by Dínora's visits, but at least she discovers where Ruth is.

Raquel talks to Ruth and begs her to come home, but she refuses; Juan asks Raquel to respect that decision. Memo plans another accident to kill Armando, hoping this time he won't fail.

Armando's thugs tell their boss that Rosario is living with Memo. They go looking for her, but she escapes. Jimena visits Ruth and gives her unconditional support in such difficult times.

Dínora is at the ranch; her thugs kidnap Juan. Gabriela reflects and now only wants Norma's happiness, while Sara confesses to her mother whom she is in love with.

Juan receives a visit from Dínora at the cabin and she gets too close to him; he takes advantage of the moment to bite her lip furiously. Fernando suspects that Rosario is hiding at Panchita's house.

Dínora intimidates her prisoner, wanting him to love her by force; she tells him that she is far more of a woman than Norma. Gabriela wishes Juan would appear so her daughter can get married and stop suffering.

Dínora and her family go to the Elizondo ranch, and Norma takes it as a provocation. The thugs assure their boss that Juan is a strong and difficult man, but she threatens them.

Juan tells Dínora that he is willing to beg her. Ruth goes to see Hortencia's husband to offer him help, but Hortencia sees her.

Ruth dreams that Libia shows her the cabin where Juan is being held. She goes out to look for the place, and Dínora's men catch her just as they are digging a grave to bury him.

Ruth and Juan take Dínora hostage and flee, but they are recaptured and taken to the mountain to be killed, while his brothers prowl the surrounding area. Rosario and Armando have a shootout.

Armando arrives at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest, while Juan and Ruth make one last effort to survive. Before fleeing, Dínora calls Norma to tell her that Juan will never return.

A rescue convoy travels through the area in the middle of the night; suspicions that Dínora is responsible for the kidnapping are confirmed when Juan and Ruth are found on a lonely road.

At a welcome party at the Reyes ranch, Juan reveals his fears about something terrible involving Dínora. Fernando does not escape the fury of the Elizondo sisters.

The police inspect the place of captivity with Juan and Dínora's father, where skeletal remains raise suspicions of possible crimes. Franco sees Sara beaten and wants to take revenge on Fernando.

In Gabriela's absence, Pepa brings mariachis to Martín; the Elizondos and the Reyes join the party. Benito defends his honor before his family and the Rosales, and an engagement arises.

Juan offers to take the Elizondos back home. Óscar lends him the car, and they become victims of an attack. Juan loses control of the car amid the gunfire. Jimena is injured. Gabriela senses that something bad has happened to her daughters.

Jimena is treated at the hospital after the attack, of which Dínora is the main suspect, while someone watches the Reyes from the shadows. Leonidas argues with Ruth, and Eva defends her.

Juan suffers another attempt on his life at the Elizondo ranch and a chase begins. Fernando and Gabriela argue, and he shows his true personality. Óscar looks to move in with Jimena.

Gabriela and Fernando return from their honeymoon as Pepa prepares a fun welcome for Jimena; Fernando announces new rules. The police arrest several suspects linked to the attacks.

The Elizondos explain to the Reyes that they will stay at the ranch due to the danger looming over Gabriela. Fernando hires two former enemies of the Reyes as butlers.

Leonidas insults Ruth again and Juan defends her, but Óscar stops his brother from hitting him because he is the doctor who treated Jimena. Leonidas apologizes, and Eva confronts Raquel about Ruth.

The Elizondos distrust Malcolm and Carmela, Fernando's new employees, because they were Eduvina's former butlers. Martín defends Dominga from Carmela's abuses.

A new gunman tries to assassinate Juan. Óscar recognizes the car and they follow it to Gabriela's ranch, where a confrontation takes place. Fernando covers up the perpetrator of the attacks.

Despite the surveillance, Dínora enters the Reyes ranch and shoots Juan, who reports her. Dominga begins working with the Reyes, and new romantic troubles loom.

Gabriela overrules Malcolm in managing the stables and reduces his authority; the Elizondos gain ground at the ranch. Norma senses that someone is watching them in the darkness.

The Reyes try to convince the Elizondos that they have nothing to do with Gabriela's problems. Fernando assures Sara that he will make life impossible for her and her sisters so that they end up leaving the ranch.

Fernando develops a gambling habit; Gabriela doesn't like it but gives in under pressure. Rosario sees Armando kissing Dínora; he blames her for it and is pleased that his wife is jealous.

Fernando tries to rape Jimena in the fields, and Sara stops him. Faced with the Elizondos' complaints, Gabriela backs her husband and calls her daughters liars. Rosario harasses Franco.

Juan feels jealous of Óscar and Jimena and pressures Norma to move to the hacienda as well. In a fit of jealousy, Concha arrives at the party and shoots Leonidas when she sees him with Melisa.

Norma attends the horse exhibition; Carmela harasses the employee taking care of the baby and takes him with bad intentions, but Norma returns in time and throws her out of the room by force.

The Elizondo sisters worry about the terrible results at the horse fair and discover that Fernando sold the best specimens from the ranch; Gabriela confronts him, but he manipulates her.

Sara sees Malcolm spying on Norma in the bathtub, and the two of them corner him and beat him up. Quintina and Dominga come to blows over Olegario, and Ruth finds out who her real mother is.

Norma reviews the hacienda's reports and confirms her suspicions. Eva stops Ruth as she is leaving the house and explains why she abandoned her, while Quintina and Dominga get revenge on Olegario.

Juan arrives with the police to confront Fernando over Olegario's beating, and both are taken to the police station. At night, the Elizondo hacienda turns into a gambling and business casino.

Norma catches Fernando in bed with another woman; he entangles Gabriela in yet another lie and fights with Norma on the balcony, from which he accidentally falls. Concha saves the Reyes from an ambush.

Fernando takes advantage of his injury to manipulate Gabriela and threatens Norma with death. Franco believes that she and Sara are in danger and advises them to leave the hacienda as soon as possible.

Dínora has Sara in the sights of a rifle and waits for Rosario's order to fire, while Franco and Óscar organize a party for their nephew Juan David. Ruth and Eva's relationship improves.

After leaving the hospital, Fernando hastens to carry out his plan and attacks Norma with the complicity of his butlers. Gabriela begins to grow suspicious when she finds Malcolm and Carmela in her room.

Sara goes to the Reyes ranch to warn Juan about the danger Norma is in. Juan beats Fernando and decides to take his love and his son to live with him.

Gabriela watches the wedding from a distance and sees when Dínora shoots into the crowd; the police chase the murderer and Rosario arrives at the scene of the incident, and Gabriela suspects her complicity.

Upon learning what happened, Norma visits Gabriela, who shows her motherly love. Dínora hides out in some swamps, and the police warn the Reyes about possible new attacks.

Armando and Fernando go to the house where Dínora had been sleeping to erase any clues that might implicate them, but they are surprised to find her there; she swears that the mission will not end until she finishes off her two targets.

Tired of her husband's hectic nightlife, Gabriela opens up to Sara, who decides to keep a close eye on Fernando and follows him to the stables, where he has a date with his lover.

Sara tells her mother, in front of Martín, what she saw, and together they go after Fernando to a house, where in the darkness they recognize his lover; Gabriela asks for a weapon and argues with her daughter.

Gabriela throws Fernando out of the hacienda, but Dínora bursts into her bedroom at night and threatens to kill Sara if she doesn't force her to leave the hacienda; Malcolm and Carmela laugh.

In front of Fernando, Gabriela throws Sara out of the hacienda and tells her she has decided to stay alone with her husband. Norma has a bad feeling while Dínora watches her prey day and night.

Dínora threatens Gabriela with hurting Martín if she reports her to the police again. Armando and Rosario visit Fernando and learn that Dínora is hiding at the Elizondo hacienda.

Rosario confronts Dínora for forcing Gabriela to throw Sara out and advises Martín to flee the hacienda. Fernando moves him to the first floor so he won't discover his lover.

Pepa inspects Martín's new room and threatens Fernando with reporting him for abuse. Martín refuses to leave the hacienda and promises his daughter that he will never abandon her. The Reyes hold a gathering to welcome Sara.

Dínora's parents ask Fernando about their daughter, and he denies knowing her whereabouts. Martín listens from behind the door and begins to connect the dots. Gabriela also changes rooms.

While Juan senses that something bad is happening at the Elizondo ranch, Gabriela confesses to Rosario that her father is in danger. In a moment of distraction, Martín sees Fernando and Dínora kissing.

Martín discovers the lovers and starts screaming; in desperation, Fernando covers his mouth until he knocks him unconscious, thinks he is dead, and puts the body in the car to get rid of it, but Martín comes to.

Martín wakes up in a sanatorium; the Reyes' employees report that everything is normal at the Elizondo ranch, however the sisters decide to check for themselves what is going on.

The administrator of the sanatorium discovers who Martín is and manipulates him so he won't say anything; Hortencia becomes interested in him. Sarita, Ruth, and Antonio keep watch over the Elizondo ranch at night.

Dínora continues with the intention of annihilating Juan. Gabriela arrives at Martín's room and finds Malcolm disguised as her father. Dínora asks Gabriela to sign the power of attorney so that Fernando can sell and takes her to see her father.

Rosario visits the Elizondo ranch under the pretext of greeting Gabriela and Martín, but Armando forbids her from returning there. Fernando feels that the situation is slipping out of his control.

Hortencia overhears Bustillo mention that he has to kill the old man, and she tells Martín not to take any pills they give him. The Reyes and the Elizondo family auction off Eduvina's jewels.

Raquel makes it clear to Benito that the entire inheritance will go to Ruth, even though they are upset and have different opinions about the Reyes. Fernando thinks of other ways to pressure Gabriela.

Gabriela screams for Raquel to hear her and help her; her friend goes to the basement and sees her gagged, and when she is unable to free her, she flees and has a fatal accident. Another of Ruth's premonitory dreams comes true.

Ruth is devastated by the death of her parents; now more than ever she needs the support of her friends. Dínora psychologically tortures Gabriela, telling her that Raquel died because of her.

In the middle of the funeral, Benito causes a scandal, reproaches Ruth for leaving Raquel alone, and tells her that she has no right to dispose of the fortune. Ruth introduces her real mother.

They read Raquel's will, and there is general surprise when Eva is named the sole heir. Don Martín plans to escape from the psychiatric hospital and seeks help to get out.

Dínora feels that time is running out and thinks about killing Gabriela if she doesn't sign the powers of attorney. A fake nurse takes Martín's wheelchair and helps him escape from the psychiatric hospital.

Don Martín and Hortencia manage to escape from the sanatorium. Bustillo orders the guards to search for them, but they can't find them. Gabriela regrets not listening to her daughters' warnings.

Fernando is furious when he can't find the jewels Gabriela has stored away and becomes defensive when Norma arrives with Eva to inspect the house. Dínora threatens Gabriela so she won't scream.

Don Martín is happy; after so much suffering, he is reunited with his granddaughters. Gabriela confronts Fernando and Dínora—she can't stand the confinement anymore and wants to know about her father and her daughters.

Juan decides to rescue Gabriela and goes alone to the Elizondo hacienda to look for her. Martín recounts the torment he went through and assures everyone that Dínora and Fernando are lovers and accomplices.

Gabriela is surprised to see Juan; she did not expect him to risk his life for her. Fernando and Dínora panic when they are discovered, they shoot Franco, and the police are on alert.

Dínora takes Gabriela and Juan hostage, tries to negotiate a ransom with the police, and threatens Norma. Pepa visits Martín and tells him her suspicions about Armando's wrongdoings.

Franco and Armando revive old rivalries; Fernando's friend fires a gun and Rosario is wounded. After a struggle, Armando pays with his life. The captors are cornered.

The Reyes decide to pay the ransom for their brother, but Dínora and Fernando do not honor the delivery of Gabriela and Juan, and in the middle of a shootout they flee with them in the truck.

The truck carrying Dínora, Fernando, and their hostages gets stuck in quicksand, and they have to hide in the mangroves. Carmela and Malcolm flee with the money, but they are captured.

Juan tells Fernando to check whether they brought the money with them, and they realize they have been deceived by their employees. Dínora changes the route to throw the police off and causes them to get even more lost.

Gabriela becomes exhausted during the trek through the swampy jungle, and Juan says he will not continue without her. Dínora fires a shot into the air, and Franco and Óscar hear it and follow that lead.

Dínora admits that they are lost; she has not guided them well. She swears to Fernando that, no matter what happens, Juan will not leave alive. As night falls, an animal bites Dínora. Rosario wakes up from the coma.

Fernando gets tired of carrying Dínora on an improvised stretcher and suggests continuing without her. Eva decides to help Benito and partners with him to create a hamburger factory.

Dínora clings to Juan as her last salvation and, in desperation, attacks Fernando, who shoots her and watches her body disappear into the swamp. Rosario apologizes to Franco and Sara.

Aníbal, the Reyes' uncle, takes charge of organizing the rescue expedition, accompanied by Franco, Óscar, and the police. Juan's leg pain worsens, and Fernando goes off on his own.

Juan and Gabriela share their family stories, and he mentions Uncle Aníbal, whom they were looking for when they arrived in the region but couldn't find, and that is why they went through so much hardship in the town.

The search party continues looking; Juan and Gabriela hear them and regain hope of surviving. Fernando reappears when they find a way out and threatens them, but he falls into the mud.

Juan and Gabriela are rescued; he can't hide his joy when he sees his brothers and finally reunites with Norma. Gabriela is very weak and is hospitalized. Eva and Aníbal recognize each other.

Gabriela asks her daughters and her father for forgiveness; she wants a new beginning. When she leaves the hospital, her family throws her a surprise party. Franco and Sara get married, and peace finally reigns.
