With Haito gone and Touya and Yagyu Jubei Sankichi in pursuit, A. Einstein and his group were searching for the "Seed of Reincarnation," the heart of all Reincarnated beings. They were gathering information from stray Reincarnated beings rampaging around the world, defeating them, and selecting targets to collect the Branches of Reincarnation. In Paris, they were facing formidable opponents such as Napoleon B, who used the Arc de Triomphe as his base and summoned the ghosts of soldiers who died in World War I from their graves to fight, and Rachel L. Carson, who was rarely seen at sea and whose movements were difficult to ascertain accurately. However, the Reincarnated being group "Floating Weeds," left behind by Xiang Senyu, joined their forces. But among them was a mysterious figure in a black suit whose identity was unknown to anyone present.
Alan Smithee, the creator of the "Branch of Reincarnation" and an unmemorable, transdimensional being, shows Haito and Yagyu Jubei Sankichi memories from before they became reincarnated beings. Haito is devastated to learn of his father's death, and Jubei is enraged to learn of Haito's past actions. Haito tries to offer his own head to Jubei, but against his will, he is possessed by a mysterious black shadow. The duel between Haito and Jubei begins, and Touya watches in stunned silence, unable to comprehend what is happening.
