One day, high schooler Ageha Yoshina picks up a mysterious "red phone card" left behind in a public telephone booth. A few days later, his childhood friend and classmate, Sakurako Amamiya—who possessed the same card—suddenly vanishes without a trace. In search of her, Ageha finds himself drawn into the rumors surrounding a nationwide string of mysterious disappearances, said to be the work of a secret organization known only as "PSYЯEN." When he accesses the group, a deadly game begins—one that will change his fate forever.
First-year high school student Ageha Yashina runs a jack-of-all-trades business, solving cases by helping people. But in reality, he's just an empty boy who only wants a reason to cause trouble. Ageha finds a suspicious telephone card at a public phone booth he passes by. It's the same one his childhood friend, Sakurako Amamiya, had... Afterwards, Amamiya disappears, leaving Ageha with the words, "Help me..." Ageha investigates the card and stumbles upon a certain urban legend: "The secret society Siren and its messenger, the mysterious Nemesis Q, will lead humanity to paradise..." Ageha scoffs at the rumor, but mysterious assassins appear, after the card. Ageha is cornered... The next moment he answers a ringing phone for help, he finds himself transported to an unfamiliar wasteland.
The Psyren game begins. Ageha must protect Amamiya in a world overrun by monsters.
Ageha and his friends have ended up in a death game. While heading for the finish line, before they can make it to safety, an unworldly monster calls a Taboo appears before them.
In a bid for survival, Ageha undergoes PSI training. Meanwhile, the actor Oboro and opportunistic Kabuto also receive phone cards.
