Lucy Worsley challenges Britain's brightest minds as they do battle to be hailed Britain's ultimate puzzler. At the start of each episode, six super smart strangers are split into two teams of three. The two teams try to accrue the most points through their powers of puzzling deduction.Every area of our player's mind will be tested across five puzzling rounds – In Other Words (language), Pressure Points (calculation), Rule Breakers (lateral thinking), Picture This (visual intelligence) and Memory Bank (memory).Then, in a dramatic plot twist, the winning team turn on each other to be named the ‘Best of the Best' and earn a place in the series Grand Final where the ultimate puzzler will be crowned.
In the first episode of the series, contestants from London, Worcester, Barry, Derby and West Kilbride take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles as they attempt to qualify for the series Grand Final.
Contestants from Guildford, Bristol, Somerset, Ormskirk, London and Dingwall take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles. They are split into two teams of three and try to accrue the most points through their powers of puzzling deduction. Then the members of the winning team turn on each other to be named the best of the best and earn a place in the series final where the ultimate puzzler will be crowned.
In the third edition, contestants from Derby, Gloucestershire, Croydon, Swadlincote, South Wales and Warwick take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles as they attempt to qualify for the series Grand Final.
Contestants from Rochdale, Wirral, Bath, Dumferline, Edinburgh and Liverpool take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles as they attempt to qualify for the series Grand Final.
Contestants from Worcester, London, Rotherham, Rochester and Kent take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles as they attempt to qualify for the series Grand Final.
Contestants from Portsmouth, Essex, Manchester, London & Derbyshire take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles as they attempt to qualify for the series Grand Final. Lucy Worsley asks the questions.
Contestants from Birmingham, Blackburn, London, Manchester and Croydon take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles as they attempt to qualify for the series Grand Final. Only the winning team play the last round, Divide and Conquer. And in a twist, team mates turn against each other as only one player can win the episode.
Contestants from Edinburgh, Coulsdon, Poole, Tenbury Wells, London and Sheffield take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles in a bid to qualify for the series Grand Final.
In this edition, contestants from Bristol, London, Bromborough, Aberdeen, Fordingbridge and Croydon take on the five rounds of fiendish puzzles.
Contestants from Thetford, Oxford, Powys, Staffordshire, Nottingham and Porth take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles as they attempt to qualify for the series Grand Final.
Contestants from Leeds, Pontypool, Norfolk, Belfast, Derbyshire & London take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles as they attempt to qualify for the series Grand Final.
Six contestants from around the UK have made it to the play-off and will take on five rounds of fiendish puzzles as they attempt to qualify for the series' grand final. Lucy Worsley asks the questions.
