The ABC is bringing Australians together around the kitchen table with Recipe of the Year, a heart-warming cooking competition hosted by beloved cook Adam Liaw and acclaimed actor and food lover Pia Miranda.Set on a picturesque country farm, the seven-part series sees home cooks compete for the ultimate title: Australia's Recipe of the Year. From family recipes shaped by culture and passed down through generations to ingeniously simple weeknight winners that will put a smile on everyone's face, Recipe of the Year celebrates the stories and flavours that make up Australia today.At the heart of the competition is the Country Women's Association (CWA), bringing generations of cooking wisdom. The home cooks face the formidable CWA judges each week, tackling classic CWA recipes from scones to jam rolls in the hope of winning a coveted CWA ribbon.
The gates of the farm open as our 20 home cooks arrive from across Australia, each bringing a recipe that represents their story.
The competition continues as our 10 home cooks dive into the ultimate source of comfort - the treasured recipes passed down through generations.
From backyard get-togethers to milestone birthdays and everything in between, today our home cooks celebrate the recipes that bring people together.
With the competition now entering the home stretch, our eight remaining home cooks return to the barn for a challenge that's all about creativity on a budget.
