Nicole Curtis is saving historic houses, one broken-down fireplace at a time. Across the fresh four episodes, she will embark on one of her biggest challenges yet—fighting to save two derelict properties that are 1,500 miles apart. In Wyoming, Nicole will take on an 1890s house subjected to a bad flip, and, in her hometown of Detroit, she'll purchase one of the dirtiest abandoned homes she's ever seen. Nicole takes ramshackle homes from the wrecking ball to their original stunning glory. Whether it's managing her rugged crew or wrangling city officials, this single mom wields her hammer with skill and returns condemned properties to their place as the pride of the neighborhood.
The premiere episode will open in stunning Wyoming, where Nicole visits the house she bought sight unseen. After ripping out the features from a cheap flip, she will start to uncover all her beloved old house details, including original floors and plaster walls, and will put a breathtaking twist on the hideous exterior with custom narrow Victoria-era windows. When an urgent call reveals squatters have been living in her 1928 Detroit property, Nicole will quickly head to the Motor City and oversee the massive cleanup in the disgusting house. She'll scope out the many original details, including subway bathroom tile, a built-in telephone stand and a laundry chute to the basement, before she and her team replace the dilapidated roof—the first step in restoring the home to its original glory.
Nicole races against time in Wyoming and calls in her crew from Detroit for help. Battling 110 degree heat, they have only one week to complete the interior, including a stunning attic suite and a revamped kitchen.
Returning to her Doris project in Detroit, Nicole and her contractor make a plan to restore the back structure of the house. While tackling the exterior, Nicole finds that the old porch is not what it seems.
Continuing work on the Doris House, Nicole mixes salvaged material with flea market finds to transform the rooms into beautiful spaces to honor the home's heritage. And with work nearly complete, she makes time to visit an exciting new project.
