Robson's Extreme Fishing Challenge follows Robson Green as he undertakes a round-the-world trip to experience some of the most extreme fishing destinations. Each week he also challenges local experts to five rounds of angling to see who can catch the biggest fish.
Journeying to some of the world's best fishing grounds, Robson Green competes against the local angling champions. In the pristine waters off Tasmania, he hunts for Mako shark, the elusive elephant fish.
With its 2500kms of dramatic coastline and the mighty Zambezi river flowing straight through the middle, Mozambique is a perfect hunting ground for fishing enthusiasts. Robson Green takes on the local champions and experts at catching monster game fish in the Bazaruto Archipelago, king mackerel and trevally in the Indian Ocean, and electric catfish and tigerfish at Lake Cahora Bassa.
Robson Green is in Iceland, a country with thousands of miles of uninhabited coastline and rivers, and where fishing accounts for a whopping 70 per cent of the national income. There he joins a group of ice fishermen and takes on the local champion anglers.
Robson Green says "aloha" as he takes on the angling champions of Hawaii. From sportfishing to slide baiting and angling in a kayak, these Pacific islands offer up a variety of challenges amid breathtaking scenery, but there are dangers too, as Robson soon discovers.
Robson Green visits South Africa, where he goes in pursuit of yellowfish in the company of two yellowfish specialists and his uncle Matheson. He also tries fishing from a ski boat in the country's tempestuous waters and gets up close and personal with a great white shark off Cape Town. Finally, Robson enters South Africa's most prestigious sports fishing contest, The Richards Bay Billfish Tournament.
Robson takes on five local master anglers on a trip to one of the wildest places on earth, South Australia. It boasts some of the planet's most spectacular scenery, particularly its jaw-dropping shoreline where the outback meets the sea.
Robson heads for the other side of the globe and the fishing challenge of his dreams, New Zealand, but with New Zealand being one of the most hostile sporting environments on earth, and home to the fearsome All Blacks, if Robson's going to cane these Kiwis on their home turf, he's in for one heck of a fish fight.
In this episode Robson Green takes on some local anglers on the island of Mauritius, which boasts the world's third largest reef and is home to the marlin world cup.
