Rock & Roll Road Trip with Sammy Hagar presented by Mercury Insurance is a six-episode original series from AXSTV, featuring Sammy Hagar (a.k.a. the Red Rocker) as he drives across thecountry to interview and jam with some of music's biggest names including TommyLee, Bob Weir, Alice Cooper, Nancy Wilson and more. The series also presentsHagar's personal experiences and rules of the road, as he tours with his newsuper-group, The Circle.
Things heat up this week when Sammy takes a trip to Phoenix, Arizona to meet up with 'the Godfather of Shock Rock', Alice Cooper. Sammy checks out the Museum of Musical Instruments before interviewing Alice and playing a hit classic at Alice's bar, Cooperstown.
Sammy teams up with his band to headline at Florida's largest waterfront music festival, SunFest, before heading to North Carolina to play at the Carolina Rebellion Music Festival. While in North Carolina, they also spend some time cruising around a racetrack with the innovative new trike motorcycles.
Sammy explores the Grammy Museum at L.A. Live before being joined in the Clive Davis Theater by Nancy Wilson from Heart and Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains. They exchange personal stories, followed by an intimate performance.
Season two kicks off in Hagar and James Hetfield'shometown where they turn the camera on the star-studded 3rd annual Acoustic-4-A-Cure – the benefit concert they founded.The concert event, at the world-famous Fillmore Theatre, is one of the year'shardest tickets to score and is open to TV audiences for the first time on AXSTV. During the one-hour premiere Hagar interviews Hetfield, Joe Satriani, John Mayer and Melissa Etheridge -- leading into epic jams with Hagar, Hetfield, Mayer, Tommy Lee, Satriani,Etheridge, Pat Monahan, Vic Johnson and more
Hagar goes country when he travelsto Norman, Oklahoma to interview and jam with the multi-talented andaward-winning Toby Keith at his160-acre ranch
Hagar meets up with rock legend and Renaissanceman John Mellencamp at his artstudio in Bloomington, Indiana. Hagar delves into Mellencamp's passion forpainting and talks about the struggles he had staying true to himself whilecoming up in the music business
An in-depth conversation about thehistory of rock with Cheap Trickguitarist Rick Nielsen, followed bya performance by Hagar's star-studded band TheCircle, featuring Michael Anthony,Jason Bonham, and Vic Johnson,at Denver's legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater
