Next Episode of Soul Music is
not planed. TV Show was canceled.
The series closely follows the plot of the novel, which, like many of Pratchett's novels it introduces an element of modern society into the magical and vaguely late medieval, early modern world of the Disc, in this case Rock and Roll music and stardom, with nearly disastrous consequences. It also introduces Susan Sto Helit, daughter of Mort and Ysabell and granddaughter of Death. The series takes the association of the "Band with Rocks In" with the Beatles even further than the book does, evolving their style from 1950s rock and early 1960s beat music (and mixing-bowl haircuts) in Ankh-Morpork, to acid rock in Scrote, to spiritual hippie rock in Quirm. In Sto Lat, they sound like the Jimi Hendrix Experience or Bad Company, but are dressed in clothes similar to the Beatles on the cover of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.
Death has been `Thinking' and decides to embark on a quest in search of forgetfulness leaving a job vacancy which must be filled.
Death enlists in the Klatchian Foreign legion in an attempt to forget everything.
The band prepare for their next gig at the `Mended Drum', which the Arch -Chancellor, despite his wizards now having the `New' music bug, agrees to attend as it may be a threat to society.
Ridcully is furious. It cost him $270 to get the wizards out of prison last night! They are getting more rebellious than ever.
Glod and Cliff become increasingly concerned by Buddy's strange behaviour.
`THE BAND WITH ROCKS IN' complete their tour and return to Ankh Morpork to play in the `Free Festival.'
Buddy strikes a deal with the guitar to let him play his beloved harp for the last time, knowing that he will be required to pay a terrible price for the privilege.
