Three long-term violent criminals are incarcerated in the high-security Tidaholm Prison. They want to do theater and contact world-renowned playwright Lars Norén. Together with producer Isa Stenberg, they develop the play Seven Three about the lives of the inmates, with themselves in the roles. They are given permission to perform the play outside the prison. At the same time, a series of brutal robberies are committed. The good intentions soon have terrible consequences.
Theater producer Isa Stenberg and playwright Lars Norén are given the opportunity to develop a play featuring three inmates at a high-security prison. Isa and Lars know that the prisoners are prone to escape and are at risk of relapse into crime. What they don't know is that two of them are also outspoken National Socialists.
Isa and the prison service are impressed by how Lars manages to get the prisoners to open up and talk about the most painful things in their lives. With the positive development also come leave and reduced security regulations. At the same time, Tony and Ola's Nazi views take on an ever greater place in the rehearsal room and during the leave, the plans to strengthen their neo-Nazi group with armed robberies become increasingly concrete.
The premiere in Umeå gets a standing ovation, but the next day the atmosphere is different. The question of how to put two National Socialists on stage echoes in the media. The prisoners withdraw and what just felt positive has suddenly turned into its opposite. Isa wants to end the tour but neither Lars nor the prison service wants to stop the performances. Isa is left alone with a frustrated theater group and an increasingly untenable situation.
