Next Episode of Smith is
not planed. TV Show was canceled.
Smith delves into the world of high stakes robberies, where Bobby Stevens (Liotta) finds himself leading a double life as the leader of a band of thieves who pull off intricate and ingenious jobs and then goes back to being the typical nine-to-five, suburban family man. The series, from executive producer John Wells, creator of "ER," will premiere with limited commercial interruption. Leading this close-knit crew of career criminals is Bobby Stevens (Liotta), who appears to be a regular family man with a nine-to-five job, but is actually an expert thief who is seeking just two or three more big paydays so he can finally leave the business for a comfortable, lawful lifestyle with his wife, Hope (Madsen), and their two children. While Bobby never discusses his illegal pursuits, Hope is growing suspicious. Bobby's second family, his core band of partners, each bring their own areas of expertise to pulling off the biggest and most sophisticated armed robberies. Joe (Franky G) is in charge of all things transportation oriented; Jeff (Baker), who is the most reckless of the bunch, is responsible for the firepower; Tom (Miller), is on parole after being busted during a previous caper and his sometime lover, Annie (Smart), is a beautiful master of disguise who can manipulate any situation with her looks. The FBI's, Agent Dodd (Bauer), has been following the robberies for some time, and remains determined to catch the team but is most interested in capturing "Smith," the police codename for the crew's mysterious leader and the brains behind the entire operation. It remains to be seen whether Bobby will be able to extricate himself in time from the scores that give him such a rush, or if his retirement will be a forced one -- behind bars.
Bobby and his crew plan to steal several paintings from a Pittsburgh museum, but their scheme quickly turns deadly when they are confronted by an armed security guard. Back at home, Hope becomes suspicious about Bobby's most recent "business" trip.
Hope grows suspicious that Bobby was involved in the Pittsburgh museum robbery and starts to probe into his whereabouts that day. Meanwhile, Annie gets Jeff and Tom to join her in a job that involves identity theft. Later, Charlie offers Bobby and his crew a job in which they would steal half a ton in precious metals, but they have less than four weeks to pull it off. Back in Pittsburgh, the FBI interviews Annie's parents, and in Hawaii it's learned a witness saw Jeff kill two men on the beach.
Bobby and his crew plot to steal an armored security truck in Tucson to use in an upcoming job. To do so, they must first nab a high-powered military machine gun, a garbage truck, a delivery truck and a large moving van. Elsewhere, Macy is threatened by a man who says her husband owes him money; FBI agents question Annie's ex-husband in a Michigan prison; Hope follows Bobby in her van to see if he's lying to her about his whereabouts.
Hope doesn't believe Bobby is attending a business convention in Houston, so she flies to Texas to see for herself. Meanwhile, Bobby's crew recruits a new tech guy to intercept airline communications, but Bobby is concerned that the 22-year-old is too young for the job. Also, Bobby visits Big Art Jackson and offers him a deal to leave Macy alone, and Jeff romances a local waitress and has a run-in with her jealous boyfriend.
Bobby and his crew attempt to steal $13 million in gold bars that are aboard a plane flying into Reno, but unforeseen problems make the job more difficult than Bobby expected. Back at home, Hope tries to help a recovering drug addict stay clean.
Jeff's beach house is broken into by Kala, a Hawaiian drug lord, who tries to kill Jeff to avenge the murder of his brother and cousin; Hope plans a birthday surprise for Bobby and it leads to an emotional encounter between them.
Tom, Jeff and Annie plan small-time burglaries between high-payoff heists; Bobby receives a tempting long-term job offer from a friend in Montreal; Dodd discovers that Smith's crew is planting false clues at crime scenes to thwart his investigation.
