Sun, Sea and Selling Houses is a series that follows two British families who have set up shop in Spain selling property to Brits seeking fun in the sun.
Don and Pauline Scanlon lead busy lives on a smallholding in Hertfordshire so they've travelled to the Costa Blanca to find a holiday home where they can relax. They've bought and renovated in Spain in the past so aren't scared of taking on a property that needs a bit of work. Sophie has lined up some great houses for them to see but soon learns that it's not for nothing that Don's nick name is 'The Negotiator'. 150 miles south, just outside of Almeria, childhood sweethearts David and Pam Rowe are searching for their dream retirement property. Number one on their wish list is a sea view. Spanish Property Choice have three apartments lined up for them to see for their 110,000 euro budget.
Spanish Property Choice take on a stunning mansion in the mountains with an unusual business in the basement - a luxurious cat hotel. But husband and wife Sharon and Steve will need to think outside the box to come up with a tailored marketing strategy for a suitable buyer. Meanwhile, the virtual reality office is open for business. Up the coast in Alicante, Andy and Deirdre are on the hunt for their first ever home together and with eight children between them they've got a big old with list. Manuel shows them three properties for their 100,000 euro budget and, in a bid to seal the deal, organises a special tour of the area, which doesn't go according to plan.
Outdoor enthusiasts Gary and Dawn Robins were brought up in South Africa but have decided that Spain is where they want to buy a permanent holiday home. The couple are major BBQ enthusiasts so outside space, big enough to sizzle a serious amount of sausages, is at the top of their wish list. With a maximum budget of 100,000 euros Casas Manuel show them three properties that will hopefully fit the brief. 150 miles down the coast in Almeria, art consultant Amy has presented Spanish Property Choice with an extensive list of requirements for her new holiday home in the sun. With 'modern' and 'quirky' absolute must haves and 'arches' and 'chintzy' a big no, Sharon and Steve are tested to the limit.
After 12 years of helping clients find their dream homes, Sharon and Steve Garner have decided it's time to sell the family home in the Spanish mountains and move somewhere that's going to see them into their retirement. They've made the brave move to design and build their own property from scratch, but agreeing on a style isn't so easy. Meanwhile, back at the office, new clients Ken and Heather Ward have a starting budget of 150,000 euros to buy a country property with enough land to drive a tractor. Up the coast in Alicante, Casas Manuel are showing retired nurse Janet Batchelor three properties. Ideally Janet would like at least two bedrooms and a communal pool for her 140,000 euro budget. Can husband and wife team Linda and Manuel find her perfect match?
