On the new Outdoor Channel series, Survival Science, Nick Mundt and Laura Schara set out to answer these questions in remarkable ways. Each week, Nick and Laura put their skills, and their bodies on the line to test the limits of human beings under the most extreme circumstances the outdoors can dish out. From animal attacks to raging storms – blazing heat to frigid cold – impossible terrain to thirst and starvation. On every episode, the adventure, excitement, pyrotechnics and danger are real, as our production team designs and builds amazing experiments to subject Nick Mundt and Laura Schara to grueling tests on Survival Science.
Laura and Nick travel to a state-of-the-art direct effects lightning test lab. With some ``explosive'' experiments, they'll determine the power of lightning, and they'll find out how hunters and fishermen can protect themselves.
Laura and Nick explore the techniques to deal with mountain lions when they are the most dangerous; the behaviors, strength, eyesight and speed of mountain lions is scientifically broken down.
Nick and Laura head deep into the mountains to explore survival techniques from the Survival Training School of California.
ATVs have allowed us to penetrate the wilderness like never before. But they've also made the backcountry a bit more dangerous. Laura and Nick rig up some dramatic, high-speed tests to see how accidents happen and what you can do to protect yourself.
