On Christmas Eve morning 2022, a father comes into the emergency room at Lund University Hospital with his 6-year-old daughter. The girl has ingested vinegar and is very seriously injured. At the hospital, the fight to save her life begins. But something is not right. The little girl bears traces of several cases of abuse and a police investigation begins into what has really happened to her. It will be a case that will deeply affect everyone involved and also shake the whole of Sweden.
What starts with a worried son contacting SOS alarm that his father has disappeared in Karlskrona quickly escalates into one of the most spectacular cases that Blekinge police have taken on. The case includes, among other things; the largest search operation in Blekinge's history, a mafia-controlled organization within the police, an opera café, an apartment full of bloodstains and a couple in love.
On a sunny April day in 2008, 10-year-old girl Engla disappears during a bike ride in the small town of Stjärnsund in Dalarna. It quickly becomes clear that this is not a voluntary disappearance. In parallel with the massive search for the girl, an intensive hunt for the perpetrator is underway, with the police's best lead being a red Saab caught on an amateur photographer's camera. This is the origin of one of the most high-profile murder cases in Swedish criminal history.
On the night of June 4, 2000, a 16-year-old girl in Falun witnesses what she believes to be a murder. The police are called to the suspected crime scene and soon a dog patrol finds a naked, dead and raped woman. The woman turns out to be 31-year-old Pernilla Hellgren.
On December 30, 2017, the police were called to a housing estate in Kortedala, Gothenburg, where a lifeless man had been found. The man had been shot multiple times and over 50 empty shells were found at the crime scene, making it appear to be a simple execution. Thus begins a murder case where the Gothenburg police are faced with a complicated investigation filled with alleged abuse, anonymous cell phones and a deadly Facebook trap.
In the fall of 2018, a woman claims to the police that three men have murdered and dismembered an acquaintance of hers. But when police technicians investigate the apartment where it all allegedly happened, they find no traces.

In August 2018, a man is found badly shot on the outskirts of Eskilstuna. The man dies, and it turns out that the victim has previously been convicted of two murders, but beyond that, the police have very little to go on.
After a wild car chase that ends at Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm, a 25-year-old man is executed with multiple gunshots in January 2017. Just over a month later, two more people are murdered in Hallonbergen, one of whom turns out to be a witness to the first incident. Police investigators are now faced with the task of linking the two investigations and finding the guilty murderers.
