No, not that kind of swamp people. Swamp People: Blood and Guts is not a show based on a B horror film. The 'Swamp People' featured in this History channel series are the proud descendants of French Canadian refugees who settled in the swamp region of Louisiana in the 18th century. Cameras follow members of this fiercely independent group as they struggle to preserve their way of life in the Atchafalaya Basin during the most important time of the year for them: alligator-hunting season.
Troy Landry, finds himself going up against Mother Nature; a cold front has moved into Louisiana making conditions even worse.
A desperate Troy does the unthinkable and brings in outside help over the objections of his sons; Ron is determined that his puppy Gunner is going follow in the footsteps of Bruce's dog.
(Enhanced/updated episode includes new segments.) Troy answers the code of the swamp and helps out an old-timer with his lines. Jacob's brother, Chase, is a no-show, putting the Landry's behind. Ron's puppy, Gunnar, finally gets his chance to prove himself and Dorien faces his biggest challenge yet.
(Enhanced.) Troy faces off with a cannibal gator that threatens to ruin his season. In Houma, Jay Paul edges closer to taking over the Molinere gator-hunting operation. Over in Pierre Part, Chase struggles to redeem himself and in Gonzales, Glenn Guist does battle with "the leaning house of Louisiana."
(Enhanced.) Troy and Guy stalk what could be their biggest gator of the season. In Houma, Jay Paul makes a bad call that could cost him and his father big bucks. In Franklin, Daniel Edgar's obsession gets the best of him and Glen Guist uses a swamp trick to get his boat to a favorite fishing hole.
(Enhanced.) Troy and Guy race to fill tags as the end of the season looms near. Jacob and Chase have a surprise encounter fishing in their backyard. The Edgars hit a cold streak as their lines come up empty and Bruce and Ron put puppy Gunnar to the ultimate test.
