Covering a period from 1947 to the present, Taken focused on three different families, each of whom was profoundly affected by extraterrestrial visitation. The Keys family was headed by WWII bomber pilot Russell Keys, who spent virtually his entire adult life haunted by his "close encounter" with aliens. The Clarkes were originally represented by lonely Texas waitress Sally Clarke, who was impregnated by a charming stranger (John) who turned out to be an alien survivor of the Roswell crash. And the lives of the Crawfords were dictated by ruthless Army officer Owen Crawford, who was determined to prove that the government had covered up the truth about Roswell by dedicating his life to tracking down all space aliens and their half-human descendants. The story was narrated by Allie Keys, a "hybrid" child of the present day, whose story determined the outcome of the final episodes.

Part 2 of 10 follows the evolution of two boys with extraterrestrial connections---Jesse Keys, whose father was kidnapped by aliens, and Jacob Clarke, who was fathered by one.
With his UFO project in jeopardy, Col. Crawford intensifies his search for alien hybrid Jacob Clarke, whose powers are becoming erratic; alien abductee Jesse Keys reunites with his father and offers himself to Crawford as a test subject.

The children of Jesse Keys and Jacob Clarke age under alien guidance, while Eric, now ousted from the UFO project, seeks a connection between the kids and the extraterrestrials.
Charlie learns his connection to Lisa, whose daughter is sought by Dr. Wakeman and his lover, Mary Crawford.
Gen. Beers dismisses Mary Crawford from the project and kidnaps Allie to lure the aliens into a trap, while Charlie and Lisa embark on a desperate search for their daughter.
Charlie and Lisa search for Allie as the military probes the alien craft; Owen opens his mind to Mary
Charlie compels John to reveal the aliens' plans for Allie, while Mary's pursuit of the child turns murderous.
