Romina seeks out Verónica to confide in her after suffering another disappointment in her desire to become a mother. In the middle of their conversation, she asks Verónica a very personal question, and the answer leaves her completely stunned.
Kassandra can no longer hide her feelings. After hearing Joaquín speak about his loneliness, she confesses that she is the woman who has always been by his side in silence.
Valeria confesses that her mother abandoned her when she was a baby and says that, to her, it is as if her mother were dead. Her words leave Consuelo devastated.
Kassandra confronts Consuelo and makes it clear that Joaquín is out of her reach. To prove that she means it, she mercilessly tears apart the blouse Consuelo had made for Valeria.
Standing before a photograph of her sister, Consuelo cannot hold back her tears and asks for forgiveness for having fallen in love with Aurelio, admitting that her heart led her down a path she should never have taken.
