Next Episode of The Dr. Seuss Show is
not planed. TV Show was canceled.
This show adapted many stories written by Dr. Seuss. It was a planned series produced by Dr. Seuss, and many Looney Tunes workers, but the MGM Animation and Visual Arts studio closed down entirely in 1970, the same time that the show was supposed to air. Horton Hears a Who was the only one completed. Dr. Whoovy Hears A Who was left on the cutting room floor. The Cat In The Hat production was completed at DFE Films (DePatie-Freleng Enterprises). Chuck Jones worked at ABC, and so Dr. Seuss cartoons were now completely in the hands of DePatie-Freleng. They decided to make the cartoons as yearly specials instead. This proved to be disastrous because more production changes occurred, including the death of Allen Sherman, the original voice of The Cat In The Hat.
