The Last Woodsmen takes us deep into the secluded wilderness with these courageous and highly skilled loggers as they literally risk their lives. It's a rarely explored, dangerous business which translates to incredibly engrossing television. On a floating barge hundreds of miles from civilization, veteran logger Jared Douglas puts everything on the line to harvest the largest timber in the world. One misstep in this high-risk industry could cost tens of thousands of dollars, or even a life. Joining him at the edge of the world is a tight-knit crew of lumbermen who, with only axes and hand-held power saws, take down massive, highly valuable trees that can be worth up to $70K each.
Stretched thin and desperately off-pace, Jared watches a loader tumble down the road; foreman Brad attempts to land his plane in choppy weather but is forced to shelter nearby; Barge Day arrives, but Brad has news for Jared that could destroy the season.
With pressure mounting after a disastrous first Forever Claim barge and the prospect of losing Float Camp, Jared brings in more crew -- including a gamble on a new Fat Truck driver -- to boost production. Meanwhile, Float Camp Claim races to end strong.
After the loader fire, Jared faces a new reality: wildfire threat. Adrian is tasked with reviving a rusted firetruck, while fallers fall high-dollar timber. But when road damage shuts down their main haul route, the operation grinds to a halt.
Fire season shutdown is imminent and Jared's crew races to fulfill a barge of the summer. Chainsaws spark fires, and when a blaze hits the Forever Claim, Jared must make a call whether to end the season early.
Jared gambles half of his crew on a long-abandoned claim loaded with big wood, chasing a royalty-free windfall. This risky move to raise $1M in just eight weeks could win Cypress Creek the Forever Claim -- or sink everything.
