When a widower offers a reward to find his only daughter who disappeared three years ago and is presumed dead, Colter agrees to help track her down. After the missing girl's father shows Colter a newspaper photo from a recent county fair he's convinced is her, Colter's search leads him into the world of amateur ghost hunting and paranormal activity.
Colter journeys into the wilderness of Idaho to help track down the owner of an aerial outfitting company's missing adult children, and friends of Reenie's father, who were last seen in a plane that took off during bad weather with a mysterious client on board.
When a grad student goes missing after a house party, his friends and family believe he buckled under the pressure of his research grant. But, after consulting with his sister Dr. Dory Shaw — a professor at the school — Colter discovers a trail of explicit photos and messages that lead him to uncover a dangerous (and deadly) conspiracy on campus.
Colter investigates the disappearance of two amateur storm chasers that the local police have written off as an accidental drowning. Colter's expert tracking skills lead him to uncover the seedy underbelly of a small town resort.
