The Phoenix

This series was based on a TV movie. It's about Bennu, a mystical sort of chap who was "put to sleep" with the intention of waking up at a later time in space. But nosey Earthlings break his slumber and try to find out what makes him tick. The story takes off from here:
Following his escape from the institute in California, Bennu begins his search for his partner Mira who was buried north of the 30th parallel at one of the 2000 Indian sites that was active between the 10th and 12th Century.
He explores one of the probable sites — the ancient burial site at Indian Peak. But there is no sign of Mira. Before he leaves Indian Peak to continue his quest he helps the local police smash a drug-trafficking ring. The series stars Judson Scott as Bennu, and Richard Lynch as Justin Preminger, a high-ranking government agent assigned to track Bennu down.
