Set at Tinkers Barn, a unique salvage yard in the Suffolk countryside, the series follows three generations of the Warnes family as they rescue, restore and repurpose treasures that others leave behind.Alongside boss Andy is his wife and business partner, Hayley, who focuses on the design and detail that helps transform forgotten finds into desirable pieces. Their son Jonah has been learning the reclaimers trade his whole life, while master craftsman Pops (Andy's dad) – who brings decades of experience and expertise - will be stopping by later in the series. Together, this special family dynamic is a force to be reckoned with as they work to preserve objects from Britain's past while building the future of the family business.Each episode sees the Warnes on their mission to save everything they can find, leaving no stone unturned. With the opportunity to salvage items from old buildings and demolition sites, they try to find a use for anything discarded. From the bricks and mortar of an abandoned property to tired home and garden furnishings, the team scour the likes of castles, schools and hospitals to breathe new life into what was left behind.
Andy, Hayley and Jonah hunt out hidden gems when they're called to clear out an old building in Lowestoft. Can they turn Victorian doors, vintage signs and blockbuster film props into a profit?
Andy and Jonah head out on a speculative barn clear-out near Norwich, while Hayley keeps the business moving and restores vintage theatre chairs. Back at Tinkers Yard, master glass artist Barry passes on his knowledge and stock to Jonah, whose stained-glass skills are growing fast.
A relentless storm is threatening the stock at Tinkers Barn. But the work never lets up, and Andy, Hayley and Jonah must rely on their skill, humour and sheer determination to keep their heads above water. Braving the weather, they rescue forgotten treasures and transform them into sought-after finds, from neglected tables at Southwold Pier to antique French doors and vintage flags.
Andy and Hayley spend the day at Norwich Castle, where they learn more about the building's past and meet an influx of customers hoping to buy their own little piece of history. Hayley transforms a metamorphic child's chair from the 1920s, and Jonah creates a storage solution from salvaged wood and Andy's old school cloakroom.
Andy races to supply local pubs and event spaces preparing for the influx of tourists. Hayley embraces seasonal wildlife projects and creates a postcard pinboard for local farmer Heidi. Andy's dad Pops is called in to transform an old church pew into a bespoke storage bench, while Jonah crafts two statement piece throne chairs. And a trip to Great Yarmouth's iconic Joyland uncovers nostalgic salvage.
