The nine flaxen-haired children in the Plath family have never had a soda, don't know who Spiderman or Tom Brady is and have never watched TV, living remotely in rural Georgia with their "follow their own rules" parents Kim and Barry Plath.
The Plaths take a stand against Olivia, with Moriah and Micah leading the charge. Ethan is left on the outs with his siblings. Kim and Barry navigate the next chapter in their lives as they finalize their divorce. Ethan and Olivia move to Minnesota.
Olivia and Ethan realise their marriage has reached an impasse due to differences in their values. Kim and Barry find it difficult to peacefully co-parent. Barry and Isaac visit Micah in LA and hope Ethan will join them despite his troubled marriage.
The Plath men go surfing in LA, and Barry and Ethan have a heart-to-heart. Olivia takes a trip to get some clarity on her marriage. Moriah crashes boys' weekend and comes face to face with Ethan for the first time in nearly a year. Ken pops an unexpected question to Kim.
With bonus scenes -- Ethan and Moriah's feud comes to a head as they hash out past disagreements. Kim moves the remainder of her things out of the family home. Ethan and Olivia have an honest conversation about the future of their relationship.
