Serving as a prequel to Outrageous Fortune, this series tells the story of legendary safe cracker and career criminal, Ted West and his fire cracker of a wife, Rita. Combining real events and the rich folklore of the West family and associates, this is rollicking history, and a tempestuous romance, set at a time of great social upheaval.
Carol and Ngaire go on a bar crawl for revenge; Wolf seeks out the traitor in their midst; Rita enters into a pact with a most unlikely devil to help Ted.
Sometimes, when a job goes wrong, the innocents must pay the price. Rita makes a bucket list; which means that Ted - the old dog - masters a new trick.
Rita has one last item she needs to cross off her bucket list; unable to face the future, Carol goes back in time; meanwhile Wolf has to play catch-up.
One last job, a funeral and then a wake; the end is nigh.
