This season, comprised of 13 hour-long episodes, featuresnew expeditions that take Monaghan diving into the emerald waters of a SouthPacific paradise to face a giant crab; scouring the Peruvian Amazon for acreature that's part fish and part stun gun; and hiking through Madagascar'srich ecosystem to uncover a mythical lemur. A lifelong animal lover andactivist, Monaghan devotes his spare time to discovering all creatures largeand small. Throughout his journeys to some of the most spectacular and remotelandscapes known to man, he meets with experts who help him seek out the mostexotic and rarest wildlife found only in that region. But his close encountersextend beyond nature's critters; along roads less traveled, he stumbles intolocals who introduce him to traditions, rituals and foods unique to each area.
Dom sets out on an epic journey across the Peruvian Andes starting at sea level and climbing to 16,000 feet. He's on a quest to find one of the strangest amphibians in the world, the Lake Titicaca Water Frog.
After a day of enjoying the vibrant sights of Sao Paulo, Dom heads out for Brazil's Pantanal -- the world's largest wetland. He's searching for the Pantanal's most bizarre animal, the giant anteater.
Dom sets out for a remote cloud forest deep in the Bolivian Andes. He's searching for a creature few people have seen or heard of – the Andean Bear.
Dom sets out by boat across the turquoise water of Palau looking for the world's largest crustacean – the coconut crab! With a diameter of 3 feet, coconut crabs look like something out of horror movie.
