Yellowjackets follows a girls' high school soccer team. In 1975, the Dearborn High Yellowjackets became the first team in state history to qualify for the Girls' U.S. Soccer Championship Series in Manchester, NH. They never got the chance to compete. Equal parts survival epic, horror story and pitch black coming of age, Yellowjackets tells the story of the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the Ontario wilderness, chronicling their descent from a friendly, cooperative team to warring, cannibalistic clans. At the same time, it follows the lives they've attempted to piece back together nearly twenty-five years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.
Summer inspires the Yellowjackets to ditch soccer for a more contact-intensive sport; a funeral flows organically into a bar therapy session; Misty dives into a new personality; Tai and Van devote time to blurring the lines between ex and girlfriend.
The Yellowjackets are stuck deciding whether to track down a missing teammate or just trip out on mushrooms; Shauna secures a spot on the world's most unsupportive partner list; Misty finds herself tangled in the intimate chaos of sleepover parties.

With a possible escape from their nightmare, the Yellowjackets learn not everyone may be in a rush to leave; in the present, the unexpected return of an old teammate sends Shauna spiraling in ways that should probably concern everyone.
Taking cues from Stravinsky (or Picciotto, if that's your vibe), the Yellowjackets' rites of spring finally come to an end. Misty gets a pick-me up. Shauna worries about a sticky Melissa problem. The power of The New Flesh is strong with this one.
