This is Backcountry Rescue.Handling nearly 100 rescues a year, the Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) is hands down the busiest search and rescue operation in the nation. With more than 3 million adventure-seekers visiting Jackson, Wyoming and Grand Teton National Park annually, there's never a dull day for this dedicated crew. The team is made up of law enforcement, specially-trained wilderness EMTs, and seasoned rescue volunteers. They are bankers and ER docs, moms and dads who drop what they are doing and risk their lives - to help others out of danger.
Dr. AJ Wheeler's hectic schedule keeps him out of action, but his team battles high winds in the heli to save a snowmobiler with a busted femur; another call comes in and Dr. Wheeler must rescue a man who tumbles off a cliff.
For Jess, life at home feels out of control, but she dials in her work routine even as the team gets hit with an unprecedented three rescues in under 12 hours.
Jamie puts his trust in new explosives technology to keep ski slopes safe and the local highways open all winter, but his barrage of anti-avalanche bombs cannot save everyone.
