Welcome to the world of wildlife rehabilitation, a profession that appeals only to those with a strong will and a big heart. In rural western Kentucky, three women have taken on the responsibility to care for wild animals that are injured, orphaned, or in need, with the ultimate goal of returning them back to the wild.
Kristin attempts to save a goose whose leg is entangled with fishing wire, but she finds the goose limping with an injury that is worse than she originally thought. Brigette receives a call that an orphaned baby skunk is in desperate need of a family in order to return to the wild. Meanwhile, Nancy helps a baby vulture that is nested in a crumbling corncrib. But will moving the baby mean losing mom and dad?
Kristin rescues an owl, Nikki teaches raccoons to survive in the wild and Nancy receives a call about a baby skunk whose mother was found dead.
Kristin discovers a mother mallard that has decided to nest her babies in the middle of a busy parking lot.
Kristin rescues a fawn with a broken leg and rushes it to the veterinarian. Things take a turn when she learns the fawn's leg is likely infected.
