Bewitched is an American fantasy sitcom television series about a witch (Samantha) who marries an ordinary mortal man (Darrin) and vows to lead the life of a typical suburban housewife. Although they agree that Sam is not to use witchcraft now that they are married, a problem always seems to crop up and Sam always resorts to spells. Things become even more complicated when Endora, Samantha's witch mother, starts to interfere.
Queen Hepzibah summons Samantha to a witch's meeting in Salem, Massachusetts, but she refuses, prompting Hepzibah to visit the Stephens and observe their marriage.
Samantha and Darrin are under close supervision by Hepzibah. Hepzibah then meets a client of Darrin's named Ernest Hitchcock and, thanks to Samantha, Hitchcock falls for the Priestess.
During a tour of the House of Seven Gables in Salem, an antique bedwarmer begins harassing Samantha. The bedwarmer makes its way to the Stephens' car, and Darrin is accused of stealing it.
While Darrin sits in jail, Samantha finds out that the bedwarmer is actually a warlock trapped by a witch's spell. Sure enough, the culprit is Serena. Samantha sends Serena back in time to undo the spell used to transform the warlock in the first place. With one situation out of the way, Samantha faces another one, getting Darrin cleared of a crime he did not commit.
Darrin and Samantha are sightseeing in Gloucester one day when Sam is called away for a special witches' meeting. Sam suggests that Serena accompany him, which turns out to be a great mistake when they comes across the Fisherman's Memorial statue. To find out more about the statue, Serena blinks him to life and in turn, replaces the statue with Darrin! Larry and a new client, Mr. Barrows, decide to meet Darrin and Samantha does all that she can to get Darrin out of a very preposterous situation.
Through another goof by Esmerelda in trying to return a Paul Revere teapot, she zaps up the real Paul Revere and his horse.
Waldo, an old flame of Samantha's, conjures a fake adoring Samantha who is seen by Larry. When Darrin confronts Waldo, he is turned into a crow.
Samantha and Darrin return home early when the Witches Council forbids Sam from being seen with her husband in public. Sam is mad at the council. Esmeralda intercepts a message from the council that states Sam must return to Salem immediately. Fearing Sam will refuse because she is mad, Esmeralda decides to send her back herself. Esmeralda accidentally sends Sam to 17th century Salem during the time of the witch hunts, and Sam has no memory of who or what she is.
A warlock who has come to 'save' Sam from her mortal marriage turns himself into an unusual dog that helps Darrin with an account.
After another argument with Darrin, Endora turns him into an old man, which forces him to pose as his grandfather Grover Stephens and causes all sorts of complications.
Endora wonders why Samantha can't be more like Serena, spontaneous, free willing and loose. Endora puts a spell on Sam that makes her do exactly what Serena does. This causes problems for Darrin, especially when he has to deal with a all business type client.
When a discouraged Darrin asks for a potion to burst his creativity and give him confidence, Samantha slips him a placebo.
When Tabitha wants to be sisters with her black friend Lisa, she casts a spell and they both end up polka dotted. Through another misunderstanding Darrin's client wants him off the account because he thinks that Lisa is his daughter.

When Mary is too drunk to perform her nightly duties, Samantha steps in and takes her place.
Samantha must convince Mary to return to her job as the Good Fairy.
Darrin starts to exhibit examples of wish-craft after Serena gives Darrin's ancestor Darrin the Bold magical powers.

Samantha wakes up in Larry Tate's bed as Louise Tate. She returns to her home to discover Louise thinking she is Samantha--and Darrin not noticing any difference.
Serena comes bearing a present for Darrin as a peace offering. Darrin is appreciative of the gesture until he learns that she zapped it up from witchcraft. Darrin's ultimate reaction causes an even bigger rift between Serena and Darrin than before she made this gesture. Serena's revenge to Darrin's less than enthusiastic reaction is to turn him into a gorilla while Samantha is out shopping with Tabitha and Adam. Further complications ensue with the intervention of nosy Gladys Kravitz.
When Endora accuses Darrin of being cheap, Darrin finds a bag full of $100,000 which he thinks Endora zapped up. It is really stolen money that some crooks want back.
Darrin gets changed into a little boy again when he bans Endora from taking Tabitha to a supernatural event. As a boy, Darrin beats the pants off of a few boys in a basketball game. One of the boys, Herbie, wants Darrin to play in a championship game. Darrin, throughout all this, is in the middle of working on a new account for Irish Stew which is not selling at all, but by the end, the stew is fit for dogs.
After Darrin catches Sam using witchcraft to clean the house, she develops a case of the hiccups that make bicycles magically appear.
Samantha fixes all the mirrors in the house so that the depressed Esmerelda will look prettier just before her old boyfriend shows up.
First Endora has Darrin constantly telling jokes and then reverses the spell so that he laughs whenever he hears something sad or horrible.
Phyllis is beside herself when Samantha makes her think that she has magic powers. It takes Frank to be turned into a mule and a mock seance to put some sense into Phyllis.
