It's the hottest day of the year, and the ED's two new resident doctors are put to the test. Dylan is spooked by his past, while Nicole is reminded of Ngozi. 

When a school collapses, Kim fights to prove herself, while Dylan digs to discover the truth. Faith receives startling news, and it's time to say goodbye for Nicole.

There's a rude awakening for Flynn when the CQC turn up at the ED. Dylan gets the answers he has been looking for, while Teddy has to confront his feelings.

Siobhan struggles to pick up the pieces in the wake of her attack, and is forced to reveal what happened as the traumatic memories impact on her ability to work. Flynn overhears Stevie question Kim's abilities, Dylan is unforgiving of Matty's mistakes, and Faith pulls Iain aside to tell him she's pregnant, but he reacts badly when she reasons that she cannot keep the baby.

Matty and Kim face their worst nightmare when a training simulation takes a dangerous turn. Faith takes a chance on Iain, while Siobhan shuts down.

Jacob's outraged by an injustice, while things come to a head for Dylan and Matty. Siobhan reaches her limit, and it's confession time for Iain.
