Nia Roberts considers some of the events behind a number of Welsh hymns. We'll hear about hymns inspired by a thunder storm and others by birds. We'll also learn about a hymn written after a visit to Anfield football stadium in Liverpool. Colwyn Male Voice Choir will also perform.
Seion Chapel in Llanrwst will be the location for this week's programme. We'll meet the minister of the chapel, who used to work as a housing inspector, and a lady from the Welsh settlement in Patagonia, who now works with local churches. Trystan Lewis will conduct the congregational singing and there will be performances by Meinir Wyn Roberts and Huw Llywelyn.
This programme comes from a children's singing festival in Canolfan Soar in Merthyr Tydfil. The singing will be led by Martyn Geraint and there will be a performance by singer Steffan Rhys Hughes.
We return to Bethel, outside Caernarfon for this week's programme. The location for the hymn singing is Cysegr Chapel and we'll meet one of the deacons of the chapel who is also a prominent member of Bangor Cricket Club. There will also be performances from Ffion Emyr and the Ysgol Brynrefail Junior Choir.
In this week's programme, people from Carmarthen will be choosing their favourite hymns.
Today we celebrate Whitsun in Capel Mair, Cardigan. We'll hear readings to mark the occasion and enjoy performances by Côr Bro Nest and popular local duo, Robert Jenkins and Gwyn Morris.
